Re: Sugarloaf Mountain Rally Sun. May 30th

Ther are no dirt roads. There is less than a mile of a "half" paved road but it's not bad. This rally is about 3 hours long. You will have some simple questions to answer and there will 4 times, to be used as a tie breaker. You will be given the average speed, which usualy is the speed lim...

Re: auto detailing

We use a variable speed buffer to get the serious dullness out. Then we go over it with an orbital buffer from Meguires. For quick clean ups we use Meguires quick wax. It work great. Wax isn't designed to stay on for a long time. The paint needs to breathe. I think I'm going to use the quick wax onc...

Re: help with tires

For that kind of money you could buy four new Yokahama A032r. you can get two compounds and they come in a 215/50/13. I drive my r compounds on the street alot. The size and camber setting make them a handfull on the road. My problem with r comps isn't the milage but the time. They get hard after a ...

Thanks to everyone that showed up. I can usualy beat big bodyshop prices. I have enough sprite parts to put that sprite together but it will still take a bit of cash. I'll let every one know before I get rid of it.

Re: Your opinion - which autocrosses did you like/hate?

I didn't run too many events this year but I did run SP and Harry Grove. Summit point is too slippery and it only take a bad pavement to grass edge to flip a car on it's roof. It was fun to drive but the though of going off was always on my mind so I didn't go as fast as I think I could have. As far...

Harr Grove on Google

I just Googled Harry Grove and you can see some cars and what I think is our timing tent. I'm not sure what time of day it is. There are a few cones set up.

Re: Questions on A-Pillar Dent Fix Options

The A pillar is a structural part of the roof. It's ok to straighten the metal to a point. You only want bondo to be 1/4" maximum. If the dent needs to be pulled out I use a tool that welds a stud on the dent and pulls it out without drilling any holes. We can do the repair at my shop probably ...

Re: Rally May 24

We have some extra directions so if anyone wants to register on sunday that would be ok. All you need is a clipboard, some pencils or pens and a caculator to do some simple math. This should be a good rally for beginners so come on out. This one is not timed so you don't have to go fast. Just enjoy ...

I think most autocrossers enjoy setting up and working on the car as much as they enjoy driving. I've been autocrossing most of my life and it's a great way to meet new people that sharethe car interest. It's good to have you hooked.

Re: Co-Drivers

I usually let the guy who's driving my car trailer it in an air condition truck to the event, buy lunch and drive home so I can drown my sorrows with a few cold ones at dinner. Then I take a nap on the way home. I also hope he's the one who spews oil everywhere and not me.

Re: Rally May 24

There many types of rallys. This one should be simple. The directions are straight forward. You will have to match some pictures and answer a few questions. Most rallys do the speed limit or less, sometimes you have to catch up if you get lost. This is not a timed event so there should be no speedin...

Rally May 24

Cathie and I are doing a rally in Washington County on May 24th. I think it will be a joint effort between the Clusterd Spires British Car Club and CDC. We are still working on a flyer, start times (10:00?), etc.. But we will keep everyone posted.
