Re: School Me
Brian runs the schools so if you have questions go to him. But yeah if you have some events under your belt, you can do the level 2. The WDCR school and BMW school are fairly similar. The WDCR school you'll do a figure 8 drill, a huuuge slalom drill and then a ton of runs on a full course. WDCR scho...

Re: Huge Empty Lot - Victory Center on Eisenhower (Alexandri
I've done a couple of Corvette events at Lincoln and instructed at one of their schools. The lot is pretty bad. Very rough, worse than Bowie. It would be a pricey day for anyone running r-comps or an expensive street tire. Good amount of light poles, a fence that wraps around the edge of the lot, po...

Re: PAX Results
I don't really get the SCCA people are too serious thing... The only days I find some people to get overly "serious" is on their run days at the national championships, and even then the bulk are still laid back. In fact, normal national events are more "fun" than most other (lo...

Re: PAX Results
Pax is fun and all, but its tough sledding for any car SP and above on the small lots. Cobra's have a better shot at taking cdc index than pax IMO. The results for PAX will probably end up being very similar to the CDC Index simply because the smaller lots favor the small cars(and STU cars) on stre...

Re: Star Specs?
I picked Ian's brain about these new Rivals at the DC committee meeting. He had his laptop(of course) so I got to see videos from their tests and some very interesting and cool information on the design of these tires. Seems like a very good tire buuut I think I may be leaving the stickers on my fen...

Re: Star Specs?
I'm almost at the point of considering buying another set of RPF1's so I can test the new BFG's against the R1R's myself. Will definitely be an interesting season, esp for the STU/STX guys. So far the BFG's sounds really good, but as most have written, nothing to be shown for the light weight cars. ...

I'm sure it'll be fine. Just didn't know where CDC stands on vehicles like these. My only thought would be hitting that freaking crack down the middle of the lot the wrong way..

Just noticed a Nissan Juke registered. Maybe it's a joke, not sure lol. But if it's not, does that really pass safety requirements (roll over, high COG, wheels base, blah blah)?

Re: Borrowing of a Ride for OCT 27/28 Event...
My magical R1R's have lasted all this season starting from full tread. I think about 30 events, probably like 170 runs or so give or take a few. Probably like 3k street miles on them from driving to-from events and around town a tiny bit. They are right around shaved depth now probably(2/32nd's - 3/...

For some reason I can't edit... But might also want to put this policy in the FAQ and/or somewhere on the registration sheet for those who don't follow the forum. That'd be a pleasant surprise for those who missed out on an event and couldn't see what the consequences were for not canceling ahead of...

Re: New CDC Policy for No-Shows
Seems like a prepayment plan as you register like everyone else does would cure the no shows and help with attendence when the weather is iffy, I realize I may sound like a broken record. That said SCCA gets really pissed if you don't cancel even if you have prepaid and you don't get a refund. I've...

FS: Eibach Coilover Springs 400lbs/in(2) & 420lbs/in(2)
I have a set of used Eibach Coilover Springs. These used to be on the Moogen. I'm not sure how many miles are on them or how old they are but I do know they are still very good. I ran on these springs with that car for a little while and the car handled very well but just not stiff enough to me. The...

Re: Autocross School?
As others have said, Evo is probably the best around, I suppose even in the country. WDCR school is great, I've done a couple Level 2's and I owe a big thanks to it (mainly Brian Garfield, Brian Burdette and Mike Stanley) for where I'm at now as a driver. NCCBMW Novice Schools are also good, esp for...
