Re: Where/How to Buy Piloti Shoes
Sportsman's Guide periodically has Pilotis for $40 a pair plus shipping. They're not an ultimate driving shoe but they're comfortable enough that I can wear them all day which translates into less crap to tote around. Alex

Re: Weights and WHP - database
For grins & chuckles since there are so many MGBs running out there. The GT weighs just short of 2100 lbs & was rated @ 79 SAE horsepower. That's @ the flywheel w/o an alternator or water pump. The current engine has been breathed on a little bit but Corvette owners do not tremble when I pul...

Re: Looking for Engine builder in NOVA/Wash. DC area
Gunther's Machining & Rebuilding in Walkersville has a good rep with the vintage Ford V8 people. I've never used him myself but several people I used to know had him build both stock & hi-po sdmall bloccks & FEs successfully. The only caveat was that his paperwork sucks & get everyth...

Pat Moss 1934-2008
I just heard that Pat Moss has died aside from being a noted horsewoman & sister of Stirling she won the European Ladies Rally Championship 5 times, won outright the 1960 Liege-Rome-Liege& took runner up in the Alpine & RAC rallies blaming the loss on the latter on stopping to loan rival...

Hey Kyle! Bimmer Blues
You sold the Bimmer too soon. Just got the latest Hemming's Sports & Exotic there's a gorgeous red one on the cover & they list it as one of the top ten sleepers for 2009. If you'd held on to it a little longer you probably could have gotten a better price. Or are you like my friend JR who l...

Re: Feedback from the June 1st Rally
Start & finish @ same location not important. The route was nice, the length seemed about right tho we cut off to go to Lilypons. Did anybody publish the results? We never caught up with Joe @ BCD but I'm sure we weren't in the running. Alex

Unable to register for autox or T&T
Just signed Linda up for the next T&T but when I tried to sign myself up for the autox & the T&T it told me I had to use the standard 16 letters for my first name--Silly me I thought that A was in the standard alphabet. Alex

Re: British Car Electrics
Lucas can be a PIA but if you go step by step it is logical. If you want an excuse to abuse alcohol try working on old Fiat electrical systems but even that is mostly due to not being able to get good information to work from. My favorite electrical nightmare was the old Dodge van that had been prev...

Re: Future home of CDC
Unfortuneately, given land cost & nimbys the Greater DC area would probably have to stretch out near oh, Fairmont WVA before it was remotely feasible

Re: Autumn Scenic Drive
There is a book I don't recall the name, something like "50 great rides in suburban DC". A friend has a copy I'll see if I can get my hands on it. Rallies can be a lot of fun. A few years back Jim Merrilees with the SCCA was putting on a rally almost every month during the season. Jim pass...

Kyle First a kvetch, aint no such animal as a factory 59 Morgan +8. The B-O-P motors that eventually grew up to be the 4.6 in Richards car weren't produced in Amurrican cars until 1961. The first year for the +8 was 1968 after the demise of the TR motor. "Young folks shouldn't quote history the...

Re: 1965 MGB Project (Rust-Free) $1500
Tempting, but one disassembled Tourer in the garage is enough, some (SHMBO) might even say too many.
