Who will be the US Stig?

So I entered Jalopnik's contest called 'Who wants to be America's next top car blogger?" Here is my entry:

Voting works by counting the number of unique visitors, so if you like it, pass it on.

Anyone with a decent camera?

Jeff showed me these:

Just curious if anyone had a camera that could shoot ~300fps. I think it would be fun to get some footage of autocross like these.

That is insane! I love how the gearbox is highlighted but the rest of the car is equally awesome.

Re: Suggestions for Next Season, Small Bore and Beyond

I suggest we have a "Boy racer series". I'm thinking we have indexes for wing size, for inability to pass over speed bumps, for legitimacy of inspection sticker, for exhaust tip diameter, and for number of manufacturer stickers on the car. The winner of the series gets a bottle of hair gel...

Re: HGS, fairwell to 2009 CDC ax season

I had a great time this weekend. Thanks Mike for a great course and congrats to everyone who had such great runs. I tried to take a lot of pictures, but I have a pocket camera and I'm no good at composition, so take it for what it's worth. If by chance you want a higher res pic let me know and I'll ...

FS: 2002 Porsche Boxster

I've been having trouble selling the Boxster on ebay because there are 185 others just like it. I'll take the first reasonable offer on it. I've autocrossed it twice but it's a little too nice to beat up on the autox course so it'll probably work best as a DD. About the car: 33,650 miles 5-Speed 217...

Re: Lexus RXh (the h stands for hypocrite)

I agree, at this rate it will take forever to see cleaner vehicles (how long has GM been advertising the Volt?). People don't need to have multiple vehicles for different purposes. The point I'm trying to make is that if these people with an RXh are truly concerned about the environment, then they w...

Re: Lexus RXh (the h stands for hypocrite)

I don't disagree with your points, but let's think about it logically. The HOV lane is by definition for commuting. What kind of vehicle is an SUV for commuting? I can understand that people need cargo space, but this was an empty hybrid SUV on its way to work with only one person in it. I'm not try...

Lexus RXh (the h stands for hypocrite)

If any of you commute from VA to DC you are probably aware of the the HOV lanes, which allow cars with 3 or more occupants, motorcycles, and hybrid vehicles (regardless of the number of passengers). Hybrid cars must be registered as "clean fuel" vehicles and they get a special license plat...
