Re: Free Hoosiers, Reston

I also have four Hoosiers, 275/30/18, FREE TO GOOD HOME. These are a bit worn but still have tread. They've got about 20-22 events on them. Used them when I ran my Subie in B Stock last year. Good for a track day or an autox school or two. Stop by and pick them up. Cheers, Jim Still available? I am...

Re: NASA Summer Breeeeeze

Just had a potential brain wave about why my speeds through 10 were lower. This event was the first time I was gaining enough out of 9 to need to require a shift to 5th before 10. So instead of just tapping the brakes I had to downshift to 4th as well which meant I was on the breaks for a smidge lo...

Re: NASA @ VIR in July

Good to hear from you, DJ. Are you doing door-to-door or time trials? My goal is to apply for a provisional TT license toward the end of this season and run with NASA-MA, so maybe i'll see you at the track. I did TT for a while, but the past 2 years ive been racing wheel-to-wheel. If you need any t...

I may not be a regular anymore with CDC, but I run every NASA-MA event and if you guys ever need anything, please let me know. I remember starting out tracking and needing stuff (heck even a canopy to crash under with plenty of beer and fans to keep you cool). Tools are free to use, just ask :) I'll...

Re: This Is How Not To Drive A Porsche On A Race Track

This reminds me of the time a gt3-cup car came out to summit point and spun in the pit lane entering the track and mounted the tire wall.... in the dry...... black flagged the session and everyone had to come in, many a 'cold tire' joke was told that day. A bit tough to get sympathy when you bring ...

Re: Camber Plates?

I would get the vorshlags... I have ground-controls, and while they are very nice camber plates, I can't get full adjustment out of them because the camber bolts stick up and hit the side of the opening in my strut tower. The vorshlags are flat, so you won't have this problem, they can go underneat...

Good times, was fun to jump back in with CDC for the test'n'tune. We sure got a lot of odd looks having 3 drivers beat the crap out of my beater automatic convertible. Didnt help that on the first run it deployed the rollover protection system! And on the last run of the day, it decided it wa...

Glad to hear you made it home without a tow though. I'll try to bring stronger zip ties next time, or at least more of them :D Did you figure out the roll-over protection yet? Are they a one time thing and need to be replaced or can you reset them? Tool that was supposed to be in the tool kit, but ...

^^^ This car

Unfortunately the zip ties only held about 20 miles, we then rigged up the coat hanger and "barely" made it home (basically dragging the exhaust the last mile  )

I wouldn't say that max performance 280 treadware relatively narrow hankook v12 evo tires are a "good set" but I understand your point. I feel that A set of "good" street tires such as hankook rs3 or dunlop ss or kumho xs should be quite an improvement. I run billsteins with sag...

Re: TrackDaze HPDE @ Summit Main on July 7-8, 2012

A bit of advice, compare data, times and video from similiar cars. Otherwise you will come to wrong conclusions and waste time, money and effort. PS- Dont worry about tires, you've got a good set. If you start to get in the mindset that you have to "buy" equipment to keep up, you are going...

Re: Harry Grove March 17th Results

It's certainly possible that he is above 3500 lbs with driver but as we don't bring scales or a dyno to the auto-x events we have to go on the "honor system" for weights and hp. Obviously we typically spot when someone is grossly incorrect in stating their hp/weight (3800lb miata anyone?)...
