Re: For Sale - FFR Cobra Replica

PS-Note that this is not a donor car (except the emergency brake handle). The parts alone cost $53,000 (including an $8,500 body prep and paint job) and it took 500 hours of labor to build. I am taking a significant loss in light of the current market and my desire to move to another "hobby.&qu...

For Sale - FFR Cobra Replica

Yes, the blue FFR is back up for sale (you may have seen it at a CDC event). After just over a year on the road I decided that selling the car and purchasing a boat will provide more enjoyment for more people rather than just one (me). So I am selling a Factory Five MKIII with a 460 Cobra jet engine...

Re: Bowie August 27th Results

Let the record show that the two Cobras that did show up did not have tops or covered trailers. Although I do have to admit I am tired of driving in the rain this summer.

Re: Autox Saturday August 27th at Bowie

They combined heats 1 and 2 and then 3 and 4 into 2 heats. I was running heats 2 and 4 so got 4 dry runs in the first combined heat. It went very quick due to the small numbers of cars, like 35 or so total, but the combined 3/4 guys were not so lucky as the rain started. It was a bummer as the weath...

Re: Next Autox ($10 discount for 2nd slot) SAT Aug 27th Bowi

WooHoo! 12 runs in one day. I am pumped. Now if I don't hurt myself trying to learn wakeboarding tricks at Deep Creek next week I'll be good.

Thanks Ed!!

That's cool Ed. It was a good day to catch up on other stuff around the house. I am glad you made the decision based on safety of the participants. That's one of the things that makes CDC what it is.

Re: CDC represented well at Porsche Club autocross on 7/2/11

So I sit corrected. Per the official, hand timed, results Wade was the second fastest overall at 48.6 with Larry just behind at 49.3 and Craig at 50.5. Only one of the P-cars beat Wade with a 48.4 (the Boxster in question). Total field was 69 cars. Mikey Lane was in #6 spot with a 51.8. I was uncomf...

Re: CDC represented well at Porsche Club autocross on 7/2/11

Sorry I missed the other CDCers in my scribing of the event. I agree PCA should attend a CDC event to get a feel how to work efficient transitions. I kept waiting for the pre-announcements to get ready for the transition but they never occurred. Could have saved a lot of time and got more runs in.

CDC represented well at Porsche Club autocross on 7/2/11

CDC was well represented at the Porsche Club autocross at the Bowie Baysox Stadium parking lot last Saturday. Four CDC Cobras (six Cobras total) and Mikey Lane in his 350Z showed up to race and had the Porsche Club folks outnumbered in the early hours of the morning (of course then they came out of ...

Same as AJ. Travel time is too long in a car not so comfortable for long distance driving. About 1 1/2 hours for me as well.

Re: 4/30 Auto-x at HG

TnT was fun. Thanks to all the organizers! Wish we would have had more dry runs. Two just wasn't enough. Still enjoyed running in the wet, OK at least most of it. Look forward to the next one. Unfortunately I have to work nights next week so will not make Bowie.

Don't worry you won't be in the way at all. Either day is great with this club. No pressure but more runs on Sunday. Look forward to seeing you.

Re: 4/23 ax at Bowie

I can't decide if my morning wet runs were more fun or the first dry run in the afternoon when I did a 180, turned it into a 360, and finished the course. A great day of AX'ing! Made the wet drive over with no top well worth it! Thanks to all the organizers and workers!

Re: Ten Tips For New Auto-xers (Thanks to Ben L)

Thanks Ben for the tips. I was re-reading them again yesterday and also really liked the reference to Frankenstein. It surely describes my car well. Maybe a new nickname for The Patriot (our current nickname for our creation).
