Re: Next CDC Autocross SATurday April 20th Bowie Baysox Stad
Thanks to the coordinators for a great event. Thanks to the designer(s). What I enjoyed most was the tricky slalom at the start and that damn pylon I kept hitting. Two thumbs up for the finish. I find those last challenges to be a great test of concentration, and skill.

To the course designer, great way to end the Woodbridge events. Definitely a fast and fun course.

Re: Recommendations on TBE for 2011 WRX
Cracked ringlands are due to detonation. There is no other way to crack a ringland. Spun rod bearings can be due to detonation as well as oil starvation. No one seems to realize that large G-forces on these cars can cause oil starvation. Therefore it may not matter what tune you have rather what yo...

Re: Recommendations on TBE for 2011 WRX
Wow, this is really turning into a great post. I appreciate the feedback. From my research and everyones input, I would agree on getting off my OTS as soon as I can. Thats is why I am data logging everyday. :D Regarding data logging, would someone please tell me, where can I get a listing of the ite...

Re: Recommendations on TBE for 2011 WRX
No need to be sorry for the epic post. I found it to have a lot of things I did not think about, like the heat shield mod, STU map (I do want to run SCCA one day in that class), and what to do prior to a pro tune. I do already have my engine management tool. I got a COBB AccessPort prior to me knowi...

Recommendations on TBE for 2011 WRX
I have been researching the different TBE options out there for a 2011 WRX and would like some opinions on the subject. My primary focus for my car is on torque gain vs. HP gain with the parts I replace and add. But of course, I am subject to the wonderful VA laws pertaining to car mods and yes I ha...

Wheel and Tire Tech
All, I have been doing some research on wheels to put some racing tires on and was looking to stick to the standard OEM sizing for my 2011 Subaru WRX (235/45 R17). What has been baffling my mind is the calculations of tire size to wheel size, offset being one of the critical measurements. I had foun...

Re: Giving Thanks for autocrossing 11/19-11/20
CDC and All,
I wanted to say thanks for holding the Auto Cross event and thanks to all those who gave great advice on my driving which improved my time greatly. It was exciting and I am already counting down to next season.

What occurs at Tech Inspection?
All, Being as this Saturday is the first time to an Autocross event, I am wondering what exactly happens during a tech inspection. What tools are required and will the inspector ask for you to remove parts to verify measurements of another, such as break pad thickness? The vehicle I am using is a 20...

Re: WRX Suspension Upgrade. What to do?
There are a ton of things you can do to the subaru from a mod perspective. If you're not all over the forums then that's a great place to start. Lots of the Subaru guys like to run front and rear swaybars and that would probably hold you over for awhile. Personally I would go get an alignment done ...

When the SCCA refers to your car having a hardtop, does that exclude those with moon roofs?eage8 wrote:You could also come out to the rallycross this weekend at summit point WV

Re: WRX Suspension Upgrade. What to do?
You have a subaru, the season is just beginning! Get some winter tires (your wrx comes with summer only tires) and find some empty snow covered lots. You would be suprised how well this can help you learn car control. If you are willing to travel there are some autocross events in the snow near Pit...

Re: WRX Suspension Upgrade. What to do?
All,
Thanks for the great advice. It is disappointing I am coming into this sport at the tail end of the season. I really want (more like need) seat time and instruction. Without seat time, how would I be able to effectively adjust my suspension anyway. Right? LOL.

WRX Suspension Upgrade. What to do?
Hello everyone, I am a novice to Solo II, as well as car tuning, and am looking to run my 2011 WRX Hatch. After reading the novice guides from CDC and SCCA, what came to mind was, "Stop with the engine upgrades and focus on car control, road surface grip, and drive train response." Startin...
