Re: 2018 TIRE INDEX ADJUSTMENTS

Matt, I still think we should use the actual weight/hp entry system that we discussed a couple years back. http://www.capitaldrivingclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2536 ^this coupled with the new tire system you guys are suggesting would be best. I've never liked that the weight and power le...

Re: WTB: Stock NA Miata wheels

I can make sure that the Rx-7 tires don't dry rot if you want me to :D

They just need to be driven on every so often to flex the rubber.

Re: Results for Winchester May 23rd

I was in a 99 miata, stock with starspecs instead of my RX-7. Not that it really matters, but I don't like the FD being credited with such a slow time :D

WOOOT!

Hopefully they do a better job with patching it then around here where the patches sometimes make things worse. I have high hopes though, City of Frederick don't let us down!

Re: Proposed alternative CDC index system, XLS linked

I see where you are getting at that people could "game the system" but that is how it is now anyway if you are close. For fun, lets take a 2012 Scion TC. This car is rated at 3060 lbs curb weight (manual) according to Wikipedia. That means that theoretically it would be in the same weight ...

I meant more getting to/from venue. Once there I'm sure all will be fine. I care more about hitting an unexpected patch of sand/slush in the early morning hours on the way there.

That would be the part I'm worried about, light cars with too much power and wide tires with minimal tread do not mix well with even a little slush.

:( that's horrible, I heard it was supposed to be sunny and 60 on Sat. I have no vehicle that can make it to and race in such conditions, anyone want to offer me a co-drive? Hell, I'll even do the Insight if I have to

Re: Proposed alternative CDC index system, XLS linked

I like it but why stop at tire indexes? There are only so many tire types out there of any real benefit for AutoX. Why not have an agreed index for each tire model that is commonly seen. Something along the lines of: A6 - 1.00X Z214 - 1.00X V710 - 1.00x R888 - 1.00X RA1 - 1.00X R1R - 1.00X RS3 - 1.0...

Re: 1999 Volkswagen Jetta TDI diesel $1K

zb12691, I worked on the car this weekend and it is back up to power. Also I welded back together the exhaust so that it doesn't smell like diesel in the cabin anymore. I was originally going to give the car to my cousin if it was an easy fix but I'm willing to re-sell too. Price will be higher. PM ...

Yeah, I see where you're coming from. I need another car like I need a hole in my head, I'm sure you feel the same way. Lemme think about it and do a bit of research to make sure everything is swappable. Might still be worth it to part out the car after I take what I want. Just didnt want to deal wi...

Re: Waldorf September 27th Results

Did you beat Joe and Me in the Mini or the GT-6? In either case, you were fast! I was in the Mini when I ran the fast laps. My index should be changed for the last three runs. Not sure if that will help or hurt my index time. After driving it, it really made me want to get some decent tires and wor...

Re: Waldorf September 27th Results

Great event, a big thank you to all the organizers for having everything go so smoothly. A special thanks to the course designer. The full size of the lot was well used, it had some technical turns, there was plenty of space to really get the cars going, it was easy to follow for the new to the spor...

I showed up in the GT6 instead of the Rx-7. I forgot to change it at check in. My class should be, C162V.

Thanks again for another awesome Winchester event. Quite the drive for me, but always worth it.

Re: Woodbridge July 12th Results

Keep it as an option. I too prefer it to Harry Grove. One reason you might not get as many people showing to this location is that the club is heavily biased to MD locations. If you ran in Hoodbrige more, you might get people showing up more regularly from the area. Has anyone talked to Osbourn Park...

Re: Winchester events - BBQ?!

Yeah, Martins Potato rolls definitely hold together better and have an added plus of being from just up the street a bit (Chambersburg, PA). The problem with them is that the 'sliced rolls' are usually on the smaller size for what I would consider a good sandwich. You need to at least get the "...

Re: Winchester events - BBQ?!

The food was very good, so good that the rack of ribs which I intended to have one or two of and bring home the rest turned into one very large meal. Obviously I enjoyed it all very much so don't take any of the rest of what I have to say as harsh criticism because I would probably buy/do the same e...

I'll be getting 1 full rack, a pulled pork sandwich, and a side (I'd probably go for potato or pasta salad if no mac n' cheese is on hand). Thanks!
