Re: Next Autox Saturday June 10th Regency Furniture Blue Crab Stadium Waldorf MD

NOTICE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS: THERE IS A SPEED CAMERA ON PINEY CHURCH ROAD RIGHT IN FRONT OF ST CHARLES HIGH SCHOOL! (read, that road between Billingsley and the stadium you have to drive on to get to the lot) Trust me; I park on the Blue Crab lot every day to hop on a bus to go to work. My car is par...

Re: Fiat 500e ok to run?

Any background info on that photo, Joe? Did it hit something, go off the track and re enter? Or is that just speed plus concrete? Softly sprung with R-compound tires on concrete. If I recall correctly, that was a stock class autocross car (before the 200tw rule) that in an back and forth element wa...

Re: Per SCCA RULES which class am I currently?

Biggies that I am pulling from the list: LSD installed (possibly ok for SP via update backdate?) Coilovers M3 offset front bushings (probably ok for SP via update backdate) "diff drop" (Likely go directly to SM) I head on Eta motor (Aside; super-eta bottom, or just rocking the low compress...

Re: Per SCCA RULES which class am I currently?

Adding forced induction likely lands you in one fo the following depending; SM (street mod, could be SMF, SM, or SSM depending on the car) XP (where even Cobra's are not competitive) Possibly DM or EM (only DM if 1.4L or under) (note: most of these classes call for being faster than the Parson's car...

Re: Results for Waldorf July 2nd 2016

Mike, I was running timing at the time IIRC and agree that there is likely an error. Back to back blue BRZ's made things a bit confusing to interpret that calls and it was busy at the timing tent.

Sorry about that!

Re: How do you compare your improvements vs other people?

I have been dialing in the car slowly over the last few events. Changing tires, alignments, engine timing. I now feel its healthy enough for someone else to drive. I meant to do it at the Winchester event :/ . If i do that does it count towards one of my laps? Unfortunately i have to do another mor...

Re: helmet question

Yup CDC is good with a DOT certified helmet (look for sticker on exterior rear of helmet) However, Snell 2010 is also still good for quite a while with SCCA as well. (many other groups use them as the standard). http://cdn.growassets.net/user_files/scca/downloads/000/011/658/2016_Solo_helmet_cert_de...

Thanks, is the index system described somewhere? Any thoughts on my other questions? Re: March 21st Autox and March 22nd TNT

Argh. Weather Channel is calling for 3-6 inches of snow on Thurs night / Fri morning. What happens if some is still around by Saturday morning? My snow tires pay off big-time and I find out if RWD + snows are better than a Subaru with AWD! While a group determination has not been made about conting...

Re: TIRES

Jay, knowing how you guys can go through tires, you might want to check out tirerack. They have the Dunlop ZII (non-star) on closeout still at $444 per set in 205/50/15, which is a heck of a deal.

Re: TIRES

Tirerack still has some Dunlop ZII (non-star spec) on closeout in 205/50/16 for $125 each (+s&h), so $500 for the set. Thats a decently competitive tire for a pretty good price. ( and only 1mph off of stock at 65mph, car going faster than indicated) http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMa...

Re: TIRES

215/45/16 seems to have a height of 23.5" and 900 revs per mile. 205/50/16 is 24.1" height and 867 revs per mile. You have a way to correct your speedometer? What is the stock tire size for the car? Tons of option if you can correct your speedo, but then you also want to look into what the...

Re: TIRES

As far as the other tires (if you find them in a size that works) RS3(v2), Very good tire, its a front runner. Mainly shines in hot conditions and falls a hair flat in the cold. Rival, Very good tire, not the best on concrete (not an issue for CDC stuff), good middle of the road option, will be edge...

Re: Harry Grove October 25th/26th Results

Development continues on the Miata. It was a really interesting ride swap, Jay. Gave me some things to think about. Aside from the effects of the diff, its making me think about my brakes and my spring rates. Your brakes had much more bite than my cheap pads and I could tell yours corners flatter. A...
