Re: NB2 Miata 2004 134k miles

Also,

I have a new exhaust, not yet installed (purchased pre-emptively for when stock exhaust inevitably goes bad)
IRC : racing heat header + Flyin'Miata catted midpipe + 304 stainless stock-clone axle back

And misc spare parts, stock wheels, etc.

Re: NB2 Miata 2004 134k miles

To clarify, this is a daily commuter.

When I said "I drove it for ~2 months in winter", I meant that those 2 months are all the winter weather the car has seen (to my knowledge).

NB2 Miata 2004 134k miles

I have an NB2 miata I am thinking of selling. 134K miles. Engine pulls strong. Mechanically all good. Cosmetically a 15 foot car. Interior is average. One torn seam in the driver's seat. Otherwise just the usual paint fade. One return spring missing in a cupholder. The antenna doesn't go all the way...

Here's a list of the minimum stuff I know the car needs : Exhaust : ------------------- California version pre-cats are dead. These parts can be used to convert to non-california. (replace headers, extend cable on first O2 sensor and plug into new header, add O2 bung after main cat, extend cable on ...

Re: NB1 for sale

Price is $500

If you are gonna use it for lemons, I can let it go for less.

It's a few hours work and a couple hundred bucks in parts from being a usable car.

I'm not gonna get a lot for it regardless, so if you are gonna put it to use, name a price.

Re: 2018 TIRE INDEX ADJUSTMENTS

I like the idea of assigning tire rack categories a point value. They are a bit more granular, and they don't hang onto treadwear as a magic bullet. Every system will have cheater tyres. That changes year to year. Unless you're in it to win it, that isn't a serious concern. If you are, you are proba...

NB1 250k miles The good : Starts and drives (poorly) Was 'good nuff' to get an inspection last it was used (a year ago). The bad : Front crank seal leak Backfires into the intake (I suspect timing is slipped), so you need to keep the RPM up to 'keep er goin' Idle wobbles up and down Some rust under ...

Lol @ adult owned and properly broken in. I feel that eyeroll. Goes the other way too... My car was at 18'000 miles before I stopped warming it up to full running temperature before driving... engine AND transmission (now I just let it get 'warm'). Didn't autocross it (or even get on it hard) before...

Re: FRS/BRZ queations

For everything out there, you'll find people saying it was a lemon, and people saying theirs never had any issues. I'm more worried about it being made on a Monday or Friday, than about the make/model. I would consider something a few months used (one of those 'bit off more payment than they could c...

The only thing I can do quickly is c/c++, as it's my day to day language. I could make a Windows&Linux compatible importable library and sample host executable, that you could wrap with whatever other language/interface. I can do java/python/lua/whatever, but it'll take me 3x as long since I'll ...

Re: PAX Results

Yes, the points are done manually and I will tell you why. Feel free to tell me if I am doing something dumb. Every event usually needs some revisions. Someone forgot to enter the right index or whatever. If I do those revisions in the timing software and export the CSV again, Google docs loses all...

Re: Star Specs?

Tire rack is very consistent vehicle wise. Pretty much every test is done with a 3 series. They do wet and dry for most tyres too. But yeah, day to day temperature would be more of an issue. It would be interesting to see how ratios like "Gs/1" would work out compared to the indices. Weake...

Re: PAX Results

Love this. I know a guy who could help with the Excel stuff. If we have the source for the timing program, it could just spit out a *.CSV with all the relevant attributes. I could add that any time. On the web site back end, parsing a CSV into an object, and supporting query functions to get sub-ta...

Re: PAX Results

Can't have too much info. This is why I was saying all of this stuff should be rolled into a 'results search/filter' function on the web site. Just select the check boxes you want, and see how you did within that filter. Check 'raw time' + 'street tyre' to get a list of raw times for all people on s...

Re: Star Specs?

I wonder if any of the tire rack stats (like skidpad G's, etc) could be used to come up with a relative value on a per-tyre-model basis (rather than treadwear).

Re: PAX Results

Tyres, horsepower, and weight. That about quantifies the biggest impacts on times. IMO its pretty much to-the-point. Even if using PAX, the original index time should be retained. In PAX a simple rear splitter changes your class. And we all know that it's basically a joke bolt-on at our speeds. -sch...

Re: PAX Results

Well, I'm "stock prepared" or whatever it's called.

So long as I can see the raw time, I don't really care what my PAX/whatever time is.

All I care about is the actual time anyways.
That's what I can compare to see how I'm really doing / improving.
