Re: Free Hoosiers 245/45/16

I will figure out how to get them. I may change my trip to Sunday from Saturday.

Go ahead and bring them up. Thanks. Hopefully I can get an event or 3 out of them this year.

Re: Free Hoosiers 245/45/16

Which day you going to be in Frederick. If you are coming Sunday I will pick them up from you. I live in Frederick and can ride over and get them. I might be able to make arrangements to get them on Saturday if you are only going to be there Saturday.
Let me know.

Re: SCCA PDX and Time Trials

I saw last night where there were like 94 people signed up.

I am coming out on Sunday to run Time Trials and just shake off the winter rust. We will see how that goes. Hopefully I can run times like I ran in November with EMRA and at least be respectable with you guys.

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

The Miata is all about momentum as you know. I would say you could get into 3 much harder. 3 is an uphill turn so you will naturally lose speed. In the Focus I start braking at about the road and am back to the gas hard mid corner. I would say in the Miata (less power) you should be able to run fart...

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

Get into turn 1 deeper. You lifted and coasted a long way in. Also into 5 you need to be wider to drivers right. That way instead of trying to fight it off the outside curb and run back into 6 you can apex it a little later and then setup for 6, 7, 8.

Re: Suggestions for 2011

You guys should not have to mess with Coffee. Everyone can buy or has an insulated coffee/travel mug anyways. I usually stop right before an event someplace and fill the thing up. I can drink it while changing tires, teching, ect. Will usually stay hot enough for me to drink for up to 45 minutes to ...

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

Dave, you beat me by .3 seconds for the day :) hit my personal best out at summit main that day with a 1.29. As Josh predicted, I found the limit of HP+ brake pads in under 5 laps. There were a few moments when i was questioning the ability to bring this 3600lb couch on wheels to a stop hahahah Aft...

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

That was my personal best also out there. I have run 1.30s on the stop watches but never been on timer. I moved to the blue group after 1st session due to catching the back half in 2 laps in white group. I love hanging it out through 10. That is the corner I am most comfortable with. I think I have ...

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

Yea the late model guys were figure 8 guys. The brown car was a hazzard the guy in the green car was not bad when I was running with him. He was pretty courteous. The other guy was a hazard though.

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

The guy in the Bimmer that wrecked last year at Summit was not a regular with EMRA. As far as safety goes tech is the only thing I wish was a little stronger. The black flags for late passes and the crazy stuff the guys get talked to. I have been in on those conversations. You can also talk to the o...

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

I have seen less stuff torn up at an EMRA time trial than I ever have at a NASA event. Since EMRA travels so much there are never enough instructors. They also don't pay the instructors so alot of people won't show up just because of that to instruct. The class results are posted also on the EMRA si...

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

Just talked to powers that be at EMRA Saturday will be 4 20 minute practice sessions for Time Trialers. No instructors on Saturday. All groups will run together. Sunday will be 4 groups, Students, Red, White, and Blue. Each group will get 5 20 minute sessions. If time permits and it is not too dark ...

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

People run a little of everything. When you see what kind of cars show up it is the same way. I have seen street tires all the way up to Goodyear slicks on old Craftsman series trucks run. At the last event at Pocono a guy showed up with an old Gurney Eagle with a 350 small block in it with racing s...

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

Registration is up and open currently. Price is $200 Saturday, $200 Sunday or $300 for both days. Also if you are a first time competitor with EMRA there is a coupon to take an additional $100 off. For the first timers with us that would be a hell of a deal at $200 for both days. Hope to see you all...

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

So it would appear that EMRA is going to try and have 2 or 3 "practice" or "test and tune" session on Saturday as well at Summit Point along with the Time Trials on Sunday.

Anyone interested I think they should have the website updated by the end of the week.

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

If you can prove you have run with NASA, or FATTs, ect you don't have to do the school. If you want an instructor they will provide one for you. Usually unless you are a complete basket case most guys are signed off and solo after 2 or 3 sessions. I have seen them check ride some guys after one sess...

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

If you have classing question email them and they will tell you exactly which class you should be in. They are very laid back about it. They are really chasing the race numbers this year. We usually have between 50 and 60 Time Trialers show up but they have been struggling to get more than 20 or 30 ...

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

Summit is usually in the $200.00 range for Time Trials. Registration probably won't open until mid October. I will keep you updated on that. Should get 4 - 5 20 minute sessions per group. They are running transponders now so every lap on the track is timed and you best lap of the day counts. Makes f...

EMRA has an event at Summit Point in November. This one of the last events of the year at Summit if I am not mistaken. Come out and Time Trial with us or just come and run for fun. We have beginners group with instructors, Intermediate and Advanced groups that will be running also. I know Fred has r...

Re: cheap lighweight battery

I was reading on a couple of the forums where they said that the Brailles did not hold up well to daily driving. For some reason they did not like start, stop key cycling multiple times on short trips or something.

Re: cheap lighweight battery

Braille batteries are super light, 6 or 8 lbs is the lightest, but not cheap by any means. $160 - 220 for something with any CCA that would work as a daily grind
