Re: Data Aquisition/loggers

Toby and Kenny are pleased with the Racelogic VBox setup they have in their car. We have a Race Technology DL1 setup. Looking for some advice on a decent Data logger...has anyone worked with any of them? Can I pull enough useful information off the OBDII to go that route - like steering inputs, thr...

Great call. The pit lane is unnecessary risk IMO.

Re: CDC and NERD Racing policy change regarding M helmets.

Not sure if you are joking or not... yellow visor is good when it's dark or when it rains.

In late afternoon sessions when the sun is low, it's better to have a tinted/smoked visor to not get blinded. (VIR T3 and OakTree come to mind.)

Re: NASA Sumit Main

That's great quality for $65.

I didn't drive that weekend. My car had a blown motor, so I only instructed.

Car is finally ready and I am heading up to SP this weekend with PCA. Look forward to trying out the new surface.

Re: NASA Sumit Main

What kind of camera/mount do you use? Is it a bullet cam? Nice angle!

Sorry I didn't swing by to say hi over the weekend. Pete and I tried but we couldn't find your car.

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

Toby can't even get a simple example calculation correct. Multiply that times 100 and you've now have an understanding of why some organizers are hesitant to adopt a new index that might be more complicated or add uncertainty to the results reporting. Hey I was trying to simplify a complex calculat...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

For simplicity, maybe we can base the adjustment values on a Miata? CS: 0.822 (r-comp, no mod... I know, I know... this and the other examples are proxies only) CSP: 0.845 (r-comp, "bolt-on" mods) STS2: 0.806 (street tires, "bolt-on" mods) According to this, Street Tire should r...

5) It is based on the honor system, nobody will check it at tech inspection. Of course if someone has an engine swap and does not report it we are going to notice! Likewise, it is pretty easy to spot most mods. But the basic idea, is that this system is based on the honor system. x2. I worked scrut...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

Update: who cares about their "worst run of the day? " only the best one counts, so what in the heck do they need to know that they ran 3 seconds slower on the first run ? I agree. I believe most who are interested in getting their other runs so they can brag about "had I not hit a c...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

Gonz, I agree in general with you. The problem is that a super simple classe system open up all sorts of problems like "Porsches" which range from 120hp 912s to 500Hp GT2s. Does it really make sense to classify all Porsches in one group? That makes about as much sense as classing all Suba...
