Re: Flyin' Miata frame rail reinforcement

I installed the chassis rail and butterfly bracing while doing the "replace every single worn item w/ new and better" service on my early '90 NA. Bearing in mind that it went from totally hammered suspension and bushings to all new everything at the same time - the manner in which the brac...

Re: Miata performance alignment in MD/DC/VA Area?

I took the car to Ed York at York Automotive for the alignment. It's a tidy shop, but not ~too~ tidy. Spec Miata racer on the lift getting an engine, neat e30 M3 getting an engine. Ed's a nice guy and knows Miatas inside out from a racer's perspective - he was completely open and willing to discus m...

Miata performance alignment in MD/DC/VA Area?

After a month of what seems like full time wrenching my new-to-me NA is back together with ~everything~ done: - FM Stage 2.5 suspension - Energy urethane bushings everywhere. No. Rubber. Anymore. - Clutch-main seal-trans seals - Wheel bearings - Raceland header - FM cat/mid pipe/muffler - FM buterfl...

Lost small blue & white cooler at 11/21 event!

At the conclusion of afternoon heat 1, I parked by the lot exit and went back to retrieve my cooler which I'd left at the bottom of the hill at the staging end of the A lane. Of course on the way there I paused surprise Danny K by grabbing the roll bar of his Caterham 7 while he was in the car looki...

4 Bridgestone RE01R 245-40-17

I used these last season for about 75 autocross runs and 2 hours at Summit Point plus maybe 1500 miles of street driving. They've got plenty of track days left, or autocrossing if you're not contesting a championship. Local pickup in Bethesda near DC, or I can bring 'em to SCCA/AI/some CDC events. $...

Re: Registration Open for the March 30th Auto-x Season Opener

Not that it actually mattered, since the Kraut-Sled was pushing like a wicked bastard in the morning, but I was scored off course on a run where I was clean and in, all the way 'round.

Who cares about multipliers! I've got a sidescreen Sprite with a kick-ass motor. Avon makes some DOTs that'll fit in my fenders, too...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

Ithink you must mean "abomination", kyle. I know how you get tripped up on those big words. Seriously, I got the tour of that car in the parking lot after the final event last year and it's a beautiful piece of work, as opposed to it's owner, who's just a regular one. I've spent the winter...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

+1 on RA1s. Mine got better and better the shaggier they got. Just don't get caught up in the moment, forget to bleed down between runs and jack 'em up above about 38psi. Mine got mighty greasy the one time I did that.

Re: Winning the CDC Points Championship

My approach was to try as hard as I could to get as close as I could to FTD without changing anything but tires. That was *almost* good enough to crack the top 10 on points. Running with AI/SCCA next season may be more suited to this conventional strategy.

Re: LAST AX for 2007 Nov 10th & AndrewTechXS TNT Nov 11th

I had a blast Saturday and Sunday, and my wife had a great time auto-X-ing for the first time Sunday. When she finished her 3rd morning run (I was "instructing" ) after she parked the first thing she said was "Ok. Where do I take time off?". Awesome. She got into the 48s and was ...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

I'm a comparative noob, approaching the end of my first season with CDC, though I've made every event and have tried to improve consistantly. My car (e36 M3) is absolutely bone stock but for a set of Toyo RA1s on non-staggered OEM wheels which help with grip, but also help with not using up my Miche...

Stickers? magnetic stickers?

I've had a CafePress store for a while and it's way simple.
