Re: 2008 Annual Dues Will be $30
Have you thought about allowing people to prepay for their events? When we register for the event we have to prepay. I think this would cut out alot of no shows, ect. I think, in theory, you're right about pre-payments helping us with the no-shows. However, these some definate cons. 1. People compl...

2008 Annual Dues Will be $30
Our annual dues are now $30 a year. As in the past, your membership can be renewed at the any of our events. Also, if your membership lapses, we will still allow you to renew at the next event you attend, with the 12 months starting at the renewal date (not the date that the membership expired). For...

Re: When is membership open again?
Membership will be opened at the first event, March 30th. Depending on how many new members we get on the 30th, we may extend the period for accepting new members. We have to be careful not to add too many members too quickly, so that our members have the ability to participate in their own club's e...

Re: Informal Awards Lunch and the New Index System
I noticed a lot of people are wondering if we lost the lots in VA.
Just to let everyone know, we're still trying to arrange events in VA. When we finalize the VA events, we will add them to the schedule.

Re: Informal Awards Lunch and the New Index System
Yea, I know. I was just thinking about other 80's cars that may qualify and taking advantage of a chance to make fun of my driving! Midgets, Sprites, and Spitfires are dirt cheap. If you look around you can probably get a good one for under $1K. It might need a top and interior, but as lo...

For the most part, any tire with a wear rating of 200 or below. Also I believe the new Bridgestone tire that is super soft after being shaved.mla163 wrote:I like the new system. A few questions:
Where is the line drawn between aggressive street tires and R-comps?
Is HP for crank or wheel?
HP at the wheel.

Re: Informal Awards Lunch and the New Index System
The changes sound like a good move. Regarding the Vintage Small Bore Class, what are you considering as Vintage? 19?? to 19?? Some consider cars built in the 80's to be classic or "vintage". That Midget killed me in my 83 GTI last year. Then again, my driving may have had sometihng to do ...

Re: Informal Awards Lunch and the New Index System
We will add cars to the list on a case by case request. Looking up the 85 MR2 specs, the normally aspirated 1.6L motor (115 HP) looks like it may fit but the supercharged version (145 HP) would be unfair.steve b wrote:I have the same question. What constitutes vintage? Does an 85 MR2 make the cut?

So, how much is the track day, and what stuff are we going to need for it? I'm putting in for vacation right now! We're still working out all the details. We expect that the fee will be $200 for early registration and $225 for late registraion. More information will follow as things get worked out....

1965 MGB Project (Rust-Free) $1500
One of the MG guys I know is selling his 1965 MGB project due to health issues. I saw the car today. It seems to be worth every penny. I would be interested but already have too many projects. Here's the details: 1. 1965 MGB (steel dash, pull handle, roadster) 2. Engine and transmission removed for ...

Re: When is membership open again?
We will probably open up membership this summer. We may also open up membership earlier during the autocrosses at Bowie to attach more participation at that location. We have to be careful to balance the number of members that typically participate at each event so that members can have a reasonable...

I received replies from the mass e-mail that I sent. In general, I think we can probably afford to repaint the lot without increasing the entry fee, if we do it only once a season with at least 5 events at Osbourn. Ted and I still need to set up a meeting with the Principal. I'm trying to find out D...

Osbourn Park HS Lot
As many of you many know, the Principal at Osbourn Park is concerned with the newly paved lot being damaged by autocrossing. At first he decided not to allow us to autocross at Osbourn Park. Officer DJ Wheeler spoke to the Principal and convinced him to reconsider allowing CDC to use the lot. The Pr...

Gee, if that is not enough how about the performance of Ross and me this weekend? I got a 45.9, Ross got a 46.0 both in S2000. Pretty close right? Ross scored 6th in the CDC Index, I scored 41st in the index. How can anyone continue to defend this system? It is completely screwy. I can defend the r...
