+1 I'd feature it on the CDC website under the Media section but that is soon getting a major revamp

Re: results are up!

Looks like the google docs version has been fixed... guess the excel and pdf still need to be updated. The results link I posted above is getting corrections as I receive them. The website will post updated results later this week. We're trying Google Docs in an attempt to improve collaboration and...

Re: results are up!

The results have been posted to the CDC website at http://www.capitaldrivingclub.com/results.html To view the latest version of the results page (and not an old copy that was cached by your web browser) be sure to do a hard refresh (typically CTRL + F5 for Windows users or Command-Shift-R for Macs)....

Re: Intro

Typical British car owner excuses! LOL I guess when you spend so much effort getting them to run right you're afraid to do anything that might jeopardize that. You can co-drive my Miata whenever (yes, you will see me at a select few autocrosses this year). ^^ For those who don't know Aaron was the f...

Re: Shop that can mount and heat cycle?

Just like breaking in a motor, everyone has their own opinion on the proper way to break-in or "heat cycle" a new set of race tires. Kumho offers no advice on their website but here is what Hoosier recommends for their autocross tires: https://www.hoosiertire.com/Tctips.htm#Tire%20Break-In...

Re: Shop that can mount and heat cycle?

I got jerked around by Tim Minor once. Never again. He would not schedule an appointment with me, instead just telling me to drop by in person. He wasted 2 hours of my life when I drove to his shop after talking to him on the telephone and telling him I was on my way and what time to expect me and t...

Jason and I are working hard trying to fix some kinks in the event reservation system. The hope is to be able to begin accepting reservations for the first two events at Harry Grove within the next 24 hours. We'll send a mass e-mail and update the blog and the forum to notify everyone when you can s...

Forum Updated

The forum software has been updated. I attempted to run the automatic updater last week but it crashed so instead I did a full install. I still have to install some forum MODs such as automatic image resize and RSS feed and fix the breadcrumbs to lead back to the main CDC site. Please let me know if...

Inactive Users / Forum Registration

We've received sporadic complaints over the past few months about users encountering errors during the forum registration process or not getting the system generated activation e-mails. A lot of usernames remain inactive and are never added to the "Registered Users" group. I don't know the...

Re: auto detailing

So do I hear that you're hosting a detail seminar at your house? lol

I think my Craftsman buffer is rather large diameter - good for a boat or larger panels on a truck or van, not so good for a Miata. The bonnets always slip off and get contaminated very quickly.

auto detailing

I didn't get a chance to do my normal pre-winter preventative maintenance on my Miata's paint finish so after a long winter it is looking pretty tired. In the next few weeks as the weather improves I plan to spend a whole day cleaning and detailing my car to restore the finish to something acceptabl...

Re: WTB: miata rear calipers 1.8

If you need them ASAP your best bet is to go call up Finishline Performance to get the good discount pricing and then drive to Rosenthal Mazda in Arlington and pick them up yourself (the two businesses are co-located within the same parts department). With the core charge refunded the price is actua...

Re: 6-point harness installation in miata

My OEM 3-point seatbelt fit just fine when I had the OMP WRC and now with the Sparco Evo2+ but then again I'm a fat ass and you're a skinny guy. On the OMP seat I routed the lap belt through the outboard harness slot and over the top of the bolster to the buckle receiver. The shoulder harness was ro...

Re: 6-point harness installation in miata

What seats do you have? Are you using factory sliders still? The OEM seat mounting bolts are not long enough to be able to mount the harnesses and hold the seat. Plus the sub straps won't be positioned correctly if mounted there. Alternatively, if you're running a custom fabricated bracket for a rac...

Re: Miata Brake Pad Recommendation

You could try Hawk HP (very similar to the Axxis Ultimates on the street and maybe a little bit better at dealing with the heat) but I think you'll get the best experience with a set of dedicated track pads and rotors.

Re: Adjustable control arms for Miata

Both sways are stock. Good driving might be out of the question--- I might have to do it with hardware. Which coil/spring setup did you go with? I remember trying to persuade you towards the FCM valved Bilsteins or the Tein Flex as good choices for a dd Miata. Both of those setups are often tuned f...

and more camber definitely won't hurt. More is not always better. -10°will likely hurt grip both in the corners and accelerating down straights. It's all about the choosing the right static camber setting for your particular setup (ride height, roll stiffness, roll center, etc.) I don't ever see pe...

Re: Adjustable control arms for Miata

The AWR RUCA are primarily for people runnning very low ride heights (<11.5" from center of the hub to the fender lip) who want to dial out excessive negative camber. If you want more camber than what your factory eccentrics will allow the offset control arm bushings should get you all that you...

Re: why don't you see car x autocrossing?

Thoughts? It may have been FoMoCo's hopefully optimistic thinking that the Capri could compete with the Miata but it never came close in terms of sales, trophies, or smiles. There is a certain demographic that overlaps between the two, that being people looking for exceptionally cheap and basic no ...
