Re: Cumberland Pumkin Carve

Francois also had top PAX for Saturday.

They changed the course a little bit for Sunday and made it a little faster. I ended up running a 46.7? on the Sunday course. I have my data logs that I should be able to get up in the next few days.

Re: Parking Lot Suggestions Wanted

We need NoVA lots badly. What about that VDOT parking lot in Woodbridge used for the Mid-Atlantic Mega Meets? While I would love to see it since that would be so close for me I don't think it will happen. The organizers of the meets had this to say about the cancellations of the megameet events. We...

Re: Timing Equipment

Can you give me more details on the current system? I think the sensors (start/finish) send a signal back to a receiver that is directly hooked up to the serial port of the computer? The computer does all the actual timing. Are the start and finish separate triggers or do you have to select the stop...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

I don't care what kind of rewards you give out or even if there are any. So for you it's all about the glory? The satisfaction of winning? I've heard several times that if there wasn't a prize on the line (season pass) people wouldn't take it so seriously. While it may be hard to imagine given how ...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

Very good observation. How do we want to reward people? Should we reward them for good driving? Or fast driving? Should we offer a reward at all? What do other clubs offer their auto-x champions besides a congratulatory hand shake and a plaque to hang on the wall? DC Per event - Magnet with placing...

Re: Parking Lot Suggestions Wanted

Most likely Autocrossers Inc ran the event in 2001. If Six Flags was still a cheap option I am sure they would still be running there.

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

Have you discussed switching to AXware for timing?
What type of timing hardware are you currently running?

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

Those PAX indices are inherently flawed because each course is different. One course may be more "drag strip" like and another more "go kart" like. Yet the PAX doesn't change to suit the course. By putting cars into different classes, you do away with the PAX error. You just lis...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

For simplicity, maybe we can base the adjustment values on a Miata? CS: 0.822 (r-comp, no mod... I know, I know... this and the other examples are proxies only) CSP: 0.845 (r-comp, "bolt-on" mods) STS2: 0.806 (street tires, "bolt-on" mods) According to this, Street Tire should r...

Re: Forum Suggestions

I would rather see the normal CDC header and have it link back to the main CDC page.

I think about 5 minutes would be better for a edit time limit. Is there that much of a problem with ninja edits?

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

I think where the index/PAX people are having an issue is what is the point of an index system? To me (and most people complaining I think) it is to equalize cars so that the best drivers win. They may or may not have the fastest raw times or the fastest cars. To Ed/CDC current index it is to show w...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM

I am racing against the clock and myself, no one else. Correct me if I'm wrong, but at SCCA there is no one champion, there are only class champions. Is the index is just for giggles then? Locally the DC Region uses PAX to score the Ladies class. The full PAX results are simply provided as a gauge ...
