Re: Winter Small Bore projects.

I didn't adjust the rear brakes or the e-brake cable and I am hoping that is why there is a ridiculous amount of pedal travel until the brakes catch. Until you adjust the calipers, you will get a lot of pedal travel. Until you adjust the caliper, the piston has to move a great distance before the p...

Re: Winter Small Bore projects.

Thanks for all the help. I still have a lot of ATE super blue left from when I bleed the brakes yesterday. I was rushing yesterday because I was supose to pick my girlfriend up from the metro after she got back from a trip to atlanta and I really wanted to drive the miata over to get her. I will tak...

Re: Winter Small Bore projects.

The car officially came off the jack stands last night. I didn't adjust the rear brakes or the e-brake cable and I am hoping that is why there is a ridiculous amount of pedal travel until the brakes catch. Cause I know that I bled them properly and waited a long time after the steady stream of fluid...

Re: WTB: miata rear calipers 1.8

I think I have found rear calipers ... Thank you Joe Steward

I now need wheel spacers. I hope 5mm spacers will be enough.

Does anyone have any lying around they want to sell me.

Thanks,

WTB: miata rear calipers 1.8

I attempted to change the pads on my car and found the left rear caliper pins frozen, then when I tried to back the piston back out brake fluid started pouring out of the adjustment screw. The right side isn't in perfect shape either. Needless to say, I need a pair of 1.8 NA miata calipers and I nee...

My buddies online shop

http://www.scaldedcatperformance.com/ One of the kids I went to school with and worked on SAE's mini baja with just started an online "race" shop. He can get basically any part you are looking for (except racing beat ... they won't discount the parts enough and we would end up paying more ...

Re: 6-point harness installation in miata

Dave, Thanks for the help. Do you remember where the stock buckle is mounted. I am assuming they look for that at inspection as well. I was thinking that there is no way that the stock seatbelt will work with the new seat. The lap belt will be way above my pelvis with the side bolster and if I route...

Re: 6-point harness installation in miata

What seats do you have? Are you using factory sliders still? The OEM seat mounting bolts are not long enough to be able to mount the harnesses and hold the seat. Plus the sub straps won't be positioned correctly if mounted there. Alternatively, if you're running a custom fabricated bracket for a ra...

Re: 6-point harness installation in miata

I thought the lap belts should be outside of the seat, not under the seat, similar to the current lap belt on the stock seat.

The backing plate is a great idea for the subbelts (I am using a 6-point harness).

6-point harness installation in miata

I know a lot of you have 5/6-point harnesses and I wanted to know what mounting points you used. I plan on using the left side lap belt for the left lap belt, the right tunnel mount for the seat for the right lap belt, obviously the roll bar for the shoulder harnesses, and then maybe the rear seat f...

miata drivers seat

I have to get rid of my drivers side miata seat. It is black cloth. I really don't want to put it in the dumpster (which is where it seems to be headed) jsuway@gmail.com or you can call me 215-514-5873 (I am in rockville BTW) http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2717/4329606277_6978f55d91_b.jpg http://far...

Re: help with tires

You might want to ask the seller if he/she is willing to ship everything via Fedex Ground and don't use any shipping box. I think shipping is considerably cheaper with Fedex ground instead of UPS. I could be wrong, but if A6s have more than 40 runs, it could be heat cycled out anyway. With 30% trea...

Re: help with tires

I have asked about tire end tables or a tire coffee table and she rolled her eyes and walked away, so I think thats out. I am planning on rolling the fenders to fit the 13x8's with a 5" backspace, and I don't know how closely you looked at my paint, but its not perfect and the body is not perfe...

Re: help with tires

The issue isn't changing the wheels or getting them to the track. Its more that I will have to move out before I am allowed to store 4 wheels/tires in my house between events. I was talking with Dave and he drives his r-comps on the street. His are not A6's, but I figure with the V700's I will be fi...

help with tires

I recently found 4 kumho ecsta v700 235/45/13 mounted on diamond racing wheels that are 13x7.5" and 4 hosier a6's 225/50/13. The hosiers have 30% tread left and the kumhos have 70% tread left. The price shipped to my house is $600 for everything. I have diamond racing 13x8's that I would probab...

Re: why don't you see car x autocrossing?

They make the same 140 HP as the earlier 1.8L Miatas. They are by no means fast. The older 1.6L cars do have an advantage of less weight and shorter gearing. I thought the 1.8L Miatas didn't make 140 until the second generation. Didn't they bump the compression at the same time they added VVT for t...

Re: R-comps in small bore

I have a feeling that small bore is going to be VERY popular next year. I heard Denise H. is going to show up with a high flow exhaust and stiffer sway bars on her Miata. Combine that with all the seat time she had last year, she may surprise a lot of people. Dave V will have is super fast Miata. J...
