Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

Dave, you beat me by .3 seconds for the day :) hit my personal best out at summit main that day with a 1.29. As Josh predicted, I found the limit of HP+ brake pads in under 5 laps. There were a few moments when i was questioning the ability to bring this 3600lb couch on wheels to a stop hahahah Aft...

Re: Suggestions for 2011

I aint saying much as anything I say is "coming from the horse's mouth". Just make sure its fair and not based on 1 or 2 members results/preferences, and look to data results from reputable sources for the differences in horsepower/weight/slicks. Not off a small data sample such as a small...

Re: Last CDC Autocross of the season

Damn even if the course picked up some time a mid 33 in an STi is some hella good driving. Also I'm pretty sure your less than stellar performance Sat netted a 98+ point day. Great year. I hope the schedule stays close to the same next year. Attendance at Winchester will pick up once people find ou...

Re: Last CDC Autocross of the season

Great Year! Thank you CDC and all of its wonderful volunteers. Yesterday was a tough day for me in many ways, first I almost am not allowed out due to play in my upper ball joints in the rear of the car. Then I go out for my first run and do a ridiculous impression of a rallyx and managed to jam/spr...

Re: EMRA @ Summit Point November 14th

Since I share the same sentiment, I'll add my 2 cents. EMRA is one of my favorite clubs, but I feel like the general safety level is significantly lower than other organizations I have run with (Trackdaze, Mercedes-Benz, etc). Last year at Summit they had 2 cars roll over, 1 in the very first sessi...

i'm also considering the miata... Bout time that was brought up. You won't find anything else come remotely close bang-for-the-buck-wise. +1 Bang for the buck, fun for the buck, expanded opportunities if you decide to go racing (TTE, Spec Miata, etc). I love miatas, I just came from a ~400 horsepow...

Re: TrackDaze weekend 2-3 Oct @ Summit point Shenandoah

Could always get an e36 m3 ;) $40 rotors, bulletproof engine and great powerband. It has its typical faults, but all are 100% fixable/if you fix it before it doesnt happen. After a year and 2 months of owning this car, 18 autocrosses, 6 track days of 2 hours each day, daily driving, and pace car du...

Re: 1999 M3, Don's

how do you like the delrin control arm bushings NVH-wise? I'm still debating what I want to do with my FC. I have spherical bearings in the rear and it's not bad at all, but I think the front would make more of a difference. I barely notice them, I noticed a huge increase in steering feel (although...

1999 M3, Don's

Okay, ive heard through the grapevine this past year that my car was not right in PAX, either light or too much power or blah blah blah. Decided I was going to put that to rest and help anyone that wants to prepare their 325i or m3 for autocross. The car seems very well setup and is a hoot and fast ...

Anyone know if the Elise was stock? I rode along with the guy for hist first run and it felt very strong. Just look at his index. He is on "semi-r compounds", has 150-200 horsepower, ,and weights less than 2000lbs. Sounds right to me, stock their 190 horsepower at the crank so probably 16...

Re: Policy on Multiple Timesheets

IMO, I would be surprised if someone with the means would actually go thru with it just to win a couple free passes. You have to buy extra sessions to do that, which offsets the free passes you might win. And I am the expert here because I used to "game" CDC's points system all the time. ...

Re: Frederick on the 11th

I don't care for being in the middle of this. Fred says he was told that his runs would count. Good enough for me. The club will look to our members for opinions on a policy going forward and there will be no question for future events. I think it might be advisable to let the rules stand till the ...
