Re: Test n tune

The Sunbeam experiment was definitely challenging in many ways, but the organizers did what they could with what they were given. The addition of an extra driver's meeting and walkthrough was costly for the schedule, and the group needed some more experienced folks helping with the coursework and in...

Re: Improvements for CDC Indexing for 2009

We could probably use XP, SS, AS, BS, CS, DS, ES, FS, GS, and HS. Throw in a couple mod modifiers (bolt-on and heavy mod) and tire modifiers (street and r-comp) and we are done. I agree, but isn't "XP + mod modifier" a little redundant, or do you just consider XP exempt from those modifie...

We could also offer some more creative trophies for people. For example, the Fastest Loser award given for the most 2nd-place finishes over the year. Currently Wade is the leader for this one, and I think he could really use a trophy with the word "Loser" on it.

Re: Improvements for CDC Indexing for 2009

If we use SCCA stock classes, where do the Cobras go, or do we include XP in the stock classes and remove any modifier for upgrades other than tires (that's already more flexibility than they get from SCCA)? I'm not trying to discredit the idea. I am just trying to analyze it from every perspective....

Re: August 2nd at Bowie

I'm pretty sure we didn't leave our sprayer there. I remember unloading it when I got home. The torque is definitely nice, but hopefully Jermaine @ TurboXS can get the turbo to spool a little earlier when we get it dyno'd next week. It's already earlier than the VF24 setup we had, but I think it can...

Re: Location Suggestion

I could keep the equipment at my house in PA (46 miles from Sykesville). We could transfer the trailer and such to my truck just for those few weeks, since it's probably a little more capable for towing. I might be able to secure a parking spot for the truck/trailer that is even closer to Sykesville...

True, I didn't know there were conflicting events. Maybe the attendance won't even be much higher than a regular T&T.

Re: Location Suggestion

Kyle, I don't think support for the event would be a problem if it were an opportunity to run on a larger course. If we only had a handful of official organizers, I am sure many club members would be glad to help out. All the Morans would gladly show up early to setup and stay late to help pack up. ...

So, if this T&T is being changed to a regular event format, why not make it an official competition event? The schedule seems a little short on those anyway...

Welcome! It will be nice to see an EVO at CDC since we don't get many presently. A couple of years ago, EVOs were abundant at CDC and frequently made FTD. I'm not sure where they all went. I'm always happy to instruct, if you want any help. Look for the Blue Subaru Impreza with the license plate &qu...

Big thanks to you guys for organizing this event. It was a blast! I wasn't enjoying our L very much in the rain since I had to drive it very carefully, but it was good experience. It was much more fun driving Jen's RS in the last group 2 slot. I might have to bring out that RS to a future track day ...

What happened to the Sykesville idea? If it's just a matter of getting people to set up, I would gladly show up there by 7am to help, and I am sure I could recruit others. If it's a viable opportunity, and we just have to sort out the details, we might as well give it a try and see how it goes.

Re: SATurday April 12th at Bowie Baysox - CANCELLED

You guys have a good thing going for the casual axer, but for people who take the sport a little more SERIOUSLY and are aware of some of CDCs politics, things are looking a little UNPROFESSIONAL. I think you may be better off sticking with the SCCA. With this statement and all the comments that fol...

What kind of cost difference are we talking about? What would the entry fee need to be for us to have an event there?

Re: Registration Open for the March 30th Auto-x Season Opener

I feel really bad for Kyle. From what I heard during the event, the timing software still isn't quite ready to output timing data reliably. Kyle was going to do everything by hand using the timing sheets (again) and it looks like there are some misplaced times from cars getting out of order. It can'...

The L has emerged.

We finally got our parts from Megan Racing today. Jake and I just finished the car and took it for a test drive. Now it's off to get aligned and figure out why the new intake is causing the engine to stall occasionally when the car is in neutral. So far there is a noticeable improvement in the feel ...

Re: What was your winter project?

We're getting down to the wire here. We managed to mock up our front suspension using a spare OEM strut from an '05 STi. That let us try out our new wheels and check tire clearances. However, we have not received the parts that we ordered from Megan Racing almost 4 weeks ago. If we are lucky, the pa...

What was your winter project?

We're down to the last few weeks before CDC starts up again. We have made quite a few changes to the SUXASS, and a few changes are still in the works for these last couple weeks. For instance, the car has received new Impreza STi axles, hubs, wheel bearings, rear brakes, and rear differential. We ha...
