Trailer Rental in NoVa

I'm looking at the options for storing a trailer in the area and they are all expensive. Anything where it costs as much as the trailer to store it each year is too much. For the amount of towing I will do, I would love a rental option. The UHaul trailer is out because it eats the bottoms of the Mia...

Re: ECU

It is a shame you never made it to one of the dyno days at Ed York's to get a baseline run in. Do you mind sharing what they charge for that service? I'm curious what their value proposition is over a full stand alone. I know it still returns OBDII codes, but your engine is not modded enough that yo...

Re: ECU

My tach is off by 600+ RPMs at redline. I don't know if the NB tach is similarly useless. Some timing lights have an RPM readout. You can use that as well. On mine I need to divide the displayed number by two because of the wasted spark setup. Errr wait... those newfangled NBs have some sort of semi...

Re: Feedback from the miata guys...

I need to talk with Dave and Fred and Dan to see what they are running. On a second note, i would like to compare the NA to the NB. NA, stock drivetrain w/ Torsen + possibly Mazda competition engine mounts and stiffer diff mounts. I'm not 100% sure on the mounts, but I think the previous owner did ...

Re: Misc. Miata Parts

I'm interested in the antenna. Do you also have the base that attaches to the rear quarter panel? Andy I removed the antenna and related components from my car and replaced it with the factory rubber plug, so I should have whatever you need. Send me an e-mail - eric.w.higgins AT gmail. Good part. Re: New CDC Policy for No-Shows

I remember the day that we were all huddled under the tent at Osbourne Park hoping we would cancel. Ed was single handily driving around the course and throwing cones out of the van. He then told us all that we were babies and that he was man enough to run the entire event by himself if we needed t...

Momo Team 280mm leather steering wheel

Nearly mint. Usually used with gloves at track days. Comes with new horn button and used mounting screws. Good for taller drivers who need clearance for their legs. $150 ferris has right of first refusal if he still wants it. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-z8_iPIQEPNg/T4t6qR193bI/AAAAAAAAA4A/-9s...

Front Top Latches and Strikers for Miata

Latches and strikers for a top. These came off of my hardtop on a 94. Includes all but one piece of the factory mounting hardware. I stripped the head on one of the screws that hold the latch to the top so you will need to replace that machine screw. Mazda blue thread lock is apparently the stronges...

NA Miata Speaker Grilles

I bought these from another forum member to repair the mess left by the previous owner; however, the previous owner enlarged the speaker cutouts so I cannot use these. Fabric is in good shape and the metal tabs are all there. Looking to get back what I paid for them. $20 + shipping https://lh5.googl...

Re: Exhaust Work

The car is at Whitey's Automotive in Chantilly based on recommendations from two folks who have used them before. They are going to clean up and weld the cat together where it broke, build me a test pipe, and install a flex pipe into the header so it doesn't happen again. I'll let you know how it tu...

Exhaust Work

I broke the welds on my cat at the track this weekend. I don't think another "direct fit" will survive any better since my header and exhaust don't line up perfectly.

Got any recommendations for an exhaust shop in Northern VA that can fabricate me one that fits perfectly?

Re: Racing Inflation: The rough realities of racing

If I wanted the extra HP that is missing from my car while staying in SM specs, I would need to pay more for the motor alone than I paid for my car. Parts bin blueprinting and secret sauce costs a lot in a series like SM. It seems that as people get creative with the rules in SM, unenforceable thing...

Re: Shop for custom alignment?

I want to make sure the place will use the right specs for the JCW suspension, and was planning to provide the spec sheet from MINI. Are the factory specs for that package actually aggressive enough for competition use? With McStruts, I figure that a performance alignment would be well outside of t...
