Re: Determining 2014 CDC Optional Classes
So you are looking at these classes then?: Smallbore (current rules) FWD (unlimited) Sports car (RWD under 250 WHP) Muscle car (RWD over 250 WHP) Daily driver (Street tires >=200 TW) AWD (unlimited) Vintage (pre 1980) Pro(you know who you are) Novice(Less then 6 events) (If you are doing away with F...

Re: Determining 2014 CDC Optional Classes
Keep in mind that a participant will only be allowed to check ONE box. So we might want to pick fewer classes which would be popular. Yup, I get that Ed. I was just adding additional suggestions to the mix, that wasn't my lineup for the season. The intention was to throw a couple more options up on...

Re: Determining 2014 CDC Optional Classes
I'll be in either the Rotary or Vintage class depending on what car I decide to bring. But, here's some suggestions for additional classes/names: FF (Front engine/Front drive) FR (Front engine/Rear drive) Lightweight (Under 2500 lbs) Heavyweight (Over 3600 lbs) I4 V6 V8 Snail Series (Turbo cars) Sch...

Re: Proposed Changes in 2014 CDC Autocross Series
I like the proposed solution of feigned sub-classes because it seems simple and effective. Information for those who are interested in sorting it out, but no real effect on the rest of the group. The most important thing to me is that the section must be clearly marked as *OPTIONAL* on the signup pa...

Re: 2011 Ford Mustang 3.7 V6 with 6sp manual into 2005 RX8
I'm not sure that there is much else available that is an easy swap in to that diff. Most of the rotary guys want more mechanical advantage as opposed to less. You should scour the V8 forums for more info, they have a plethora of torque and less rpms to work with so they often want to slow down thei...

Re: 2011 Ford Mustang 3.7 V6 with 6sp manual into 2005 RX8
I think that swapping the stock rear diff gearing for one of the longer ratios and just using OEM half shafts would be best, the mustang uses a 3.31 vs. the rx8 4.44, so I'll have to look at the ring and pinions that fit my diff. The diff is used in many applications so there's a lot of browsing ar...

Sorry Ed but my ears just perked up a little at this comment, is there a thread talking about possible changes that I missed? or is this something still to be discussed?echan wrote: I think in 2014, the small bore series may also be modified quite a bit as well.

Looks like Rocky will be bringing his Triumph GT6 (or should I say GT-V8) and we invited the Fiat Club to join us. So there should be a few cars (and people) that we have never seen before at the autox. Here's hoping for good weather, if rain is in the forecast I am going to have to revert to somet...

Re: BBQ at Winchester events
Pre-order doesn't sound out of the question, considering the cost out-lay for the meat etc. I don't know that you need to go to the extent as to prepare exact orders for people, but at least to get a gauge on who of the registered cars intends on getting what so you have a rough guess on the quantit...

I nominate Nate and I to be co-founders of the "9000 RPM" class. Any car is allowed, but it will be disqualified from scoring in that class if we don't measure the revs to reach 9000 RPM during the throttle blip at tech. :P Haha! Good one Glenn! We'll enjoy a small competitive field until...

Hey Mike, my co-driver "Devo" must have entered the wrong index for the car. His should be the same as mine for scoring (also he should be included in Smallbore). Thanks. Also, the car made it home fine after Sunday. I think it was just all the back-to-back runs without cool down that caus...

Except for cases of Hurricane conditions, it is usually still on. That said, I think it was 2011 where there was a hurricane forecast to hit in the afternoon and we still had an event in the morning see pic below. Generally speaking, we will huddle in the cars for safety if there are lightning strik...

Re: Educate me about small vintage cars! (MGs, Triumphs, etc
Andrew, the most important thing that Ed has said so far IMO is this "buying a British sports car is pure luxury." They should not be expected to do anything but entertain you from time to time. And if bought cheap, they are not even really cars. At best, they are 'drivable' projects (the ...
