Are there many classes for the new miata? I think you lose some of the bang for your buck factor if you buy the last generation. They are still too new to be the best value. I'll be there competing in Miata Challenge. Transponder rental is $35 + refundable deposit. Most people bolt the transponder to their front licence plate, or zip tie to a tow hook/tie down point.
