Re: Improvements for CDC Indexing for 2009
Does anyone else have a better idea on how to get quantitative data? yeah. we take ONE driver and we have him (her?)drive all 300 members cars, on the same day, same course. Then everyone will have a good index  haha. i'm not against the Pete SCCA modified system. Ithink it WOULD be more accur...

Re: Improvements for CDC Indexing for 2009
Any index system that doesn't take into account suspension will favor the more highly modified cars. But I don't see how to do this without using SCCA or NASA. I would take a stock Porsche Boxster or S2000 over the vast majority of the cars at our events with modifed suspension. Throwing springs an...

Re: Summit Point Main Track
What the heck is up with that orange RX-8?!? With the NASA group they are really geared to "going racing" as the ultimate goal. So in the HPDE groups you get a lot of guys who already own race cars, or are driving race cars as they go through the student groups from beginner to advanced. ...

Re: New Jersey Motorsports Park
I think I have a new favorite track at least to instruct on... Lighting is smooth, lots of run off and well thought out. The track offically opened July 5th and although the track complex isn't even near complete it's already better than most. SCCA did a PDX yesterday between the heats of a regiona...

Re: Summit Point Main Track
I was about a second faster than my previous best time despite the crappy track conditions. so were you out there on RA1s or your V700's ? or something new this weekend? I also have to say the pavement has no effect on my lap times. I'm just "not that good" or consistent where a ripple he...

Nice going.
I made 39.2 in the AM, but went slower (39.4) in the PM. Oh yeah, then Francois broke my fog light
I took a bunch of pictures. Will try to post the ones that turned out well.

Hobbs - that's a good in-car view. One of the best I've seen. What camera set up are you using?
It's got a nice wide field of view and good sound.

I'll be there with my blue MR-S as always. Drop by and say hi. :) OK. I'll just look for the dent ;) I'm in the 'advanced' group, so look for a red mustang with an arm extended out the window. I hope they are generous with the passing zones ( between T3 & T4 would be nice) so I don't collect a ...

Good idea. You don't want to trash a new set if the pavement has jagged edges.

I'll be there on Friday running with the Corvette Club. I decided to do this one day event rather than the two day event Mon/Tuesday. Saves on hotel expenses, etc.
There was some talk on the Corvette forums that the track was being patched up in the problem areas. Guess we will see.

Re: Location Suggestion
I don't think it's just a problem of having organizers and helpers show up; part of it is that the autoX trailer with all the equipment (cones, timing, tent, grilles, tables, computers, coolers, water, soda, snacks, etc) is stored in Virginina & has to be towed out to the autoX sight. In this ca...

I did read about that. Fortunately he is going to be OK. Any time I see a car off it's kind of a reality check, that there are risks involved. It's the first time I've really heard of someone injured in HPDE at an event I was attending. His off was actually in the first session on Sunday. It was a p...

Re: Summit Point Main Track
you know, once you have a roll bar, you'll be less cautious and have a greater chance of going off.
Feeling safer makes people take greater chances. ( at least that's what psychologists will tell you).
Let me know if you find a roll bar fabricator.

cool. I'll have to check that video out. My younger brother was driving a black 4 door 325i in your group. I'm sure you passed him once or twice  Rgarding the pavement. Re: Summit Point Main Track
Looks like that Mustang is aiming for the worst of it with his loaded side tire. There is plenty of room to put the right tire against the curbing & not notice the bumps. Or it could be straddled, or put the unloaded tire on it. perhaps it's not the fastest way around, but for me I wasn't racing...

Re: Summit Point Main Track
I was two seconds faster than in October, which was just after they repaved. However, I had all winter to get the car sorted out and and better prepared for this event. Having a more predictable handling allowed me to drive better. I looked at the race results in CMC & CMC2, & it didn't seem...

How about the guy that did the Sux@$$ machine? Lee something.
I emailed you his info not too long ago. They posted pics of the cage somewhere ( either here or on NASIOC )
Someone recommended to me RPM Fabricators in Elkridge, but I've never seen their work up close.

Re: HyperFest - NASA @ Summit Point
Based on the other two hyperfest I've been too, unless you are there on Friday night and secured a spot it's not likely that you'll find something in the gravel paddock area. Perhaps along the fence near the gas filling area, is where I recall they set aside some HPDE spots. But it's soooooo loud th...
