Re: 09/19 Summit Point

A couple of things about the SP course: I think street tires are better suited than R-comps (especially well-worn R-comps). Since the times may not be as far off b/w R-comps and street tires, the indexes are better for street tire owners, IMHO. Also, I think there are some cars that probably require...

Re: 09/19 Summit Point

That was a fun course!! I really love Summit Point. I think that anyone that didn't like it after the first event, really didn't give Summit Point a shot. I think a lot of folks that are used to the different lots, especially FedEx, are looking for the grippiest surface. What's the point if you can'...

Re: apologies and thanks to everybody

The turbo should quiet it down considerably, so let's all just simmer down. I, too, have complained about how loud it is and am glad you're going w/ the turbo route. Hopefully it'll be a simple install. My turbo kit is nearly done and there's a few kinks to work out. Off topic, I'm now having clutch...

Re: Sorry - We're Late with the Results for 8/29

Probably the hardest part of doing the points and entering all the data is when someone has not entered their indexes. Sometimes you know the car and what tires they run (yeah, like we all know each individual car!), how much power it's making, the weight, etc. If not, you have to compare it to olde...

I hope she finds my time sheet. I posted a 36.02 (FTD) in a stock Miata with street tires (allowable for the small-bore series). Heck, I'm an organizer and totally wouldn't lie...so just mark me down for that, thanks! -Ed O ps: anyone that challenges my claim, I will remember you at the grill..... :D

Re: Miata Suspension

^Braineack: I'm currently running on the 550F/350R Ground Controls w/ the helper springs. It's a decent setup. However, I'd like to get stiffer springs (650-700F/400R) and refresh the Konis. Also, it'd be nice to get a taller spring than what GC sent me. If so, I'd keep the current rates (or possibl...

Re: 7/25 Woodbridge autox photos, etc

FYI, I've finally completed the results and updated the spreadsheet. I'll email Kyle the results. Thanks for everyone's patience. It's a pain the first time. The timesheets take awhile b/c of indexes, alphabetizing (I find it easier), small bore series, and aliases. THEN, after all is entered, I tri...

Do you guys think I'd actually give away the layout?!

BTW, 3x around a skidpad probably would mean oil starvation on a couple of cars. :D

Re: Format improvement ideas for Autocross day.

i just came up with an idea to decrease some confusion for the work station labeling issue. at some of the events, like bowie when they refer to the flag stations at the upper or lower lot, or at summit point, when they had station 1, 2, 3 and 4, maybe somebody could quickly label the walkie talkie...

I think the story went something like this: On our Subaru challenge trip last year, Ed and Slava shared a bed. .... ... Well, you can figure out the rest   That was a different story altogether. Plus, you called dibs on Buttdyno before I could. Buttdyno = medium. Slava = XL (he hides it ...

Sounds like there is a story that needs to be shared?! :) Fine... Slava, a few other folks, and I were discussing worker assignments with the SCCA folks. They told Slava he was pole captain for X-pole. I asked where I was. They said I was working at Y-pole. I said, "Oh, can I work Slava's pole...

Re: July 25th Woodbridge Autox

Yes, working heat 4 does blow @ SCCA. I do my best to make heat 4 the smallest that I can while still having workers for the next heat at the SCCA events but it does seem to take a while to run. I need to start timing it and get some actual data on how long it is now (I think it has gotten shorter ...

although standing at a pole at FedEx is usually fun Especially if it's Slava's pole. Haha! That never gets old! Re: July 25th Woodbridge Autox

Travis, did you work 2 STRAIGHT hours at a CDC event? I know heat 4 at SCCA = 2 hours minimum on a good day. The longest I worked in 1 heat was at FedEx. 2hr30min (friggin cold day) and 2hr45min (hot as hell day). I prefer it to be broken up, although standing at a pole at FedEx is usually fun unles...

I think most of us love hitting various events just to see what's out there. I enjoy almost every format, lot, etc. I don't recall any event that I truly hated b/c it was run poorly/unsafe, the lot just sucked so bad, etc.
