I think you misunderstand. No matter what you do fast drivers in fast cars will win even if you completely ignore raw times and base finishing position solely on a PAX adjusted time.

Except there is something of value at stake, namely honor and rewards that carries with them some monetary value (season pass, trophy, etc.).

Those super hypothetical SCCA PAX results tell me that fast drivers in fast cars still win. Big surprise! What would be interesting to see the delta between the CDC handicap and the SCCA PAX, e.g. Fred Kelley 0, Mike Moran -4, Slava +15, etc.

I am interested depending on cost/event and day of week. I'd like to take my 6er out for some gentle lapping in the novice group.

I think that is a generous offer. Hopefully, we can implement a system that requires little to no manual data entry and that calculates the results automatically. But developing that system takes time/effort. Calling all computer programmers! All computer programmers to the forum please!

The index system can be discussed in isolation but in reality everything in the organization is interrelated. I think Ed became overworked long ago but soldiers on because the club has grown to the extent it has and taken on such great meaning with so many people that he feels he can't let him down....
