Re: Andy Hollis's Top Ten Auto-x Driving Tips

What really throws me off is when one of the workers is playing with a red flag, and I see it in the corner of my eye. That kinda freaks me out, then I lose concentration. X_X If I'm manning the flag I always make sure I keep it tightly rolled up and, if I'm thinking, held behind my back or behind ...

Re: Nationals Results

http://sololive.scca.com/ I've been monitoring the results as well. John W (Buttdyno) placed well in STX, he shows up to CDC every now and then. Travis F (ProDarwin) was supposed to co-drive, but couldn't get out of work. I will continue to give him a hard time. A lot of other SCCA/AI locals did pre...

Re: 7/25 Woodbridge autox photos, etc

The course and line were nice and challenging. My girlfriend autocrossed for the first time and she had a great time. I agree that the cones on the "driver's ed" portion of the course could have been laid out differently. The line was fine, but the lateral spacing of the cones was the same...

FS: 275/40/17 Hankook Ventus Z214

275/40/17 Hankook Ventus Z214 unmounted. These have 3 to 4/32s on them and are in decent shape. C70 compound. About 6 heat cycles. Looking for $75/tire = $300 for the set. These have been sitting on my office for a while, need to get them out of here. more info here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/...

Re: May 9th event at Summit Point

I talked to the guy with the Lotus. Aaron I think? The bumper was pretty gone and there was a hole in the aluminum undertray where a rock went through. Just looks like new bumper time. Could have been much worse. Such a pretty car. If we can get them to do it, Summit should really clean out those di...

Re: Rally May 24

I am interested, but have NO idea what this will be like. I have read a few articles on road rally, but I still don't fully understand it.

In autocross, the challenge is finding the fastest way from the start to the finish. What is the challenge in road rally?

Re: Format improvement ideas for Autocross day.

IMHO CDC should stick to what makes them different from other clubs. The current format lends it self to a club atmostphere with mingling and oppurtunities for ride alongs. this And there is no way that CDC could run an event without a driver's meeting and walkthru. There are individual exceptions,...

It didn't look like anything had been repaved - but it may have been

The dirt on the course looked like it was from off-courses mostly. There were definitely areas where there had been some puddles, though.

Re: Summit skidpad

I think the venue is great, and will be better once the grass is seeded and the deck is installed. The surface was very hard to get grip on, and I don't know if there is anything that can be done about it. It was like driving in the wet, only I get more traction in the wet. On some sections, the car...

Re: course design.

As a side note to course design, is there a difficulty pattern? For example, do the courses increase in difficulty in general as the season progresses or do certain sites incur a more difficult or complex course then others? thanks, John N Courses tend to get harder as the year goes on. Rain course...
