You also need to take into consideration what happens if he wrecks the car. Very unlikely but can and has happened. I would make sure you have something in writting. Check with some of the guys on the NASA site about what kind of agreements they get people to sign off on as far as damage. I have see...

Re: Track Day for 2009
Depending on what events you are attending there are some companies that will do some rentals for HPDE and Time Trials. I know with EMRA, Entrophy racing usually shows up with 2 or 3 customer cars that they go out and do instruction and depending on how they drive let them run Time Trials. I know wi...

I've grown a lot. Last year I was cocky, and thought it was fun to throw down, well that really didn't work out for me. This year I just wish all my brothers and sisters in the autocross world happiness and tranquility. I'm going to meditate now. I believe my car will fulfill it's destiny in this w...

Time Trials are Saturday and Sunday at Shennandoah. Come over and watch or hang out if you get a chance.

The hill climbs are still similar to that video. A little safer but not much. Hillclimbs are much more dangerous than our AutoX's.

Wider is always better for contact patch.
However you have to watch rubbing issues if the car is lowered or anything.

Re: Miata question
Is it a 2 piece cover like on the Focus?
I put the adjustable timing gears in my car and for ease of adjustment just left the cover off...
The Focus has an upper and lower timing belt cover the top part being plastic.

Check Radial Tire in Silver Spring, Md.
Call and ask for Paul. If he does not have what you want in stock he can get them within a day or 2.

McNews Automotive in Dillsburg, Pa is one of the best Ford shops around. They do all kind of work on Mustangs, Focus, ect. http://www.mcnewsautomotive.com/ Bobby McNews does all the work and his brother Ray is the tuner. They built and tuned my Focus. They are just north of Gettysburg by the way. Ab...

The other system to look at that can be used in any type of racing. AutoX, Road racing, ect is the Traqmate GPS Data Acquisition system. There are all kinds of things you can run off this. Throttle position, braking, ect. You can even sync up a video system with it that will show you RPMs, ect overl...

Usually when I went to Sterling on 4 or 5 corporate events they gave you everything including the Suit, Helmet, ect.
Only thing you had to supply was yourself, closed toe shoes and the willingness to listen to the in class instructions and follow directions.

If you are going to rent the place for the whole day I would suggest either running an Enduro event. Usually they run 3 people per kart and run for like 3 or 4 hours or something like that. I have run a couple of these and they are a blast. They usually put out a sign when to pit and change drivers ...

CDC is one of the best organizations to join and come out to just have fun.
No pressure. No one yelling at you. Unless Richard shows up and you cannot follow basic directions.
Fun, Low Key and relatively inexpensive.

Washington SCCA is running a 3 or 4 race Kart enduro deal.
Check the website. I got an email about it a month or so ago. I think it was a Nov, Dec, Jan or Dec, Jan, Feb thing.
They were running it in Delaware somewhere.
