Re: Maybe this will make the Fit go instead of slow...
Love new tires ...and wow! that is a huge boot there! Do we have another Honda contender :) I myself just picked up the new Kumho XS's. My first race on them was last weekend, and they were barely scrubbed in, so it was a little slippery (as I 4-wheel slid past a gate). I really should spent time ju...

Re: Format improvement ideas for Autocross day.
Speaking on my own here .... In order to be punitive there has to be accountability, which I think is what Jen's idea really helps solve, but still keeping the light, family atmosphere which is what CDC wants. Once they have something in place where its easy to identify individuals, then CDC can han...

Re: Format improvement ideas for Autocross day.
Jen, great idea. I love helping out and being involved, though it does bring down the joy when you have to work multiple heats in 1 event. The first event my wife ever came with me I worked almost every heat in the afternoon (I offered to help-after almost 3 minutes of announcements of "where a...

Glen Burnie...but it was mostly dead stopped on 95 up thru VA, crawled into MD, once I got onto 50 east it cleared up.
Getting there took me 1hr30m almost exactly.

Re: Woodbridge
Loved the course. It was very technical and challenging. Wish we could have used more of the lot and less overlapping, but still...great job! Its a bit of a haul for me as well (2hrs), and 95/495 was no fun coming home. I had the brand new Kumho XS's, and it was slippery at first trying to break the...

Re: I can't wait for this weekend @ SP...
Alas, I will not make it tomorrow...long story short, my tires didn't get mounted, and my old tires are no longer useable. So I'm out
Those Kumho's have some really strong sidewalls, so a regular tire mount wouldn't work.

Re: I can't wait for this weekend @ SP...
I'm hoping for good results, though on the Skid Pad it may be a little difficult to get a real feel for them. Grassroots did a review of them compared to the RA11's, Star Specs, Falkens, etc. and surprisingly they did very well - way better then Kumho's previous incarnation.

I just picked up my new tires (Kumho Ecsta XS KU36 225/45R17)!!! No more regular street tires --- and hopefully no more squealing tires around the entire Summit Point Skid pad!

I was off course in the morning AND the afternoon :) And ive got 10+ years under my belt of doing this, so it's not just the noobies having trouble. Everyone had fun right? So what's the worry. Sometimes it's just as much fun to get out and play. Its supposed to be fun? :o Thats where I'm screwing ...

Speaking of scoring results, have you all seen this: Livescoring online for SCCA events. Pretty neat when the even is going on.

if you guys don't count points for the afternoon heat 1/2 runs, will you still post up the times that heat 1/2 did in the afternoon? I'm just interested to see what times people got in the afternoon. As am I. I had changed my suspension setup and the first runs in the morning were just trying to ge...

Thanks for those pictures. Its nice to be able to see action shots of your car in a corner, how the car is reacting - something you don't "see" when your driving it.

Re: Auto-x Course Design Poll
I do not envy the job of creating courses for these places, they each have thier own 'special' requirements which makes laying it out differently each time a little more challenging.
Longer courses I prefer, but simply being able to race is the best.

Re: May 9th event at Summit Point
I would tell you to go with a bigger front bar to stiffen up the front end. Going smaller is making the front roll over more. Stiffer front bar and maybe stiffer springs. My reason for going with a smaller bar in the front is that I do not have a differential...therefore if I go with a stiffer bar ...
