Re: May 9th event at Summit Point

I really need to get either stiffer springs in the rear or stiffer rear sway....probably both...to get my car to rotate again. In my experience, understeer is best dealt with at the front end. You can stiffen the rear springs or sway, but ultimately you are reducing your rear traction so that it br...

Re: May 9th event at Summit Point

I also noticed that slicks do not help you on this track, much. Look how close Brian and Mike were in times; and Mike was on street tires! Am I missing something? Are the results posted yet? No, but I kept a mental note when I was there .... I'm dying to see where I placed...my best was 51.49??? I ...

I was in second the whole time, but my rev limiter is 8.5k. I never even made it into vtec :(

Re: May 9th event at Summit Point

I do like how BMW club runs their Autox's at the Skid pad. have the start and finish lines at the far end of the course. Use the long road as paddock and cars finishing runs come down the opposite side of the road. This method could possibly allow for slightly longer courses also I was wondering wh...

Re: May 9th event at Summit Point

Driving back to the paddock - while slow, was still not any slower than how we did it the first time (IMO), however it did flow better and felt less congested in the staging area. Does SP have any plans on a staging area, or maybe a parking/paddock lot? I realize where we park now is actually the st...

Re: Format improvement ideas for Autocross day.

aww Bugman1964 said the "pre-payment" word! *grin* The Pre-payment idea/option has been a mixed bag of worms. We all know it should be done for so many reasons ..... but I belive they don't do it for the very reason of no-shows and *cringe* rain outs so that CDC has flexibility. I've talke...

Re: Summit skidpad

... Idea 3 The Idea behind this is to have an AM and PM group The paddock area is big enough to have a tech inspection and registration tent setup. at either end (backend would be better for tech, front for registration and waiver). AM group = 5 runs PM group = 5 runs Limit # of drivers for each group

First, LOVED the skid pad...I was able to push my car like no other event so far (maybe SCCA)....and that back sweeper was suh-weet! Though I didn't see a whole lot of drivers actually pushing thru there; me, I was on 3 wheels most of the time :P Anyhow...change the format slightly only for Summit P...

Re: Online Registration System

Having people pre-pay does not force them to show up in bad weather. Yes you have the money to pay for the lot but you still may not have enough workers and might have to rearrange heats to get enough workers to work the course. Having an online system was never meant to be a discussion about the r...

Re: Online Registration System

A downpour is one thing..and nobody wants to work in that. but a little bit of rain shouldn't be a show stopper...with the current system of hoping enough people show up..it becomes a stopper. If an online system is used there is the option of running or re-scheduling. either way its in favor of the...

We can setup a yearly season pass as well, with 'special days' for anything above-and-beyond the scope of races commited for the year. Re: Online Registration System

Nothing is wrong with the current system, however it doesn't: - Allow you to pre-pay when your register - keep a listing of your vehicles (you have to enter vehicle data every time) - is not linked to your profile - requires CDC to print out slips and keep track of them at the course etc. The system...

Any thoughts on my "1.01 handicap for anything other than OEM springs" idea? IMO...and its just an opinion... Springs won't create a defining win, unless they are part of a whole suspension upgrade and tuned correctly, even then I think the actual gains to be minimal considering our low s...

All sweet news! Sorry I missed the early conversations...just got back from Vermont...it was cold! So for now, for the Summit Point events, should we plan not bring family members/spectators due to space and liability concerns? I know this is jumping the gun, but, any chance that we could get Summit...
