Re: INDEX SYSTEM
Interesting comparison of two people throughout the season with zero sandbagging: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a216/ProDarwin/comparison.jpg The last column should read % of possible points (100 for the first 2 rows, 200 for the second 2). Don't know why its getting cut off - its an absurdly sm...

Re: Winning the CDC Points Championship
I don't have a problem with people sandbagging. It is playing by the rules, and definitely makes use of a unique strategy in order to win. I do think that if everyone approached this system the same way you do, it would be more interesting. However, it would still be a competition among the fastest ...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
All I can say is Sunday was very fun because of the shootout competition, which was based on raw times. It was a step in the right direction for sure.

Re: LAST AX for 2007 Nov 10th & AndrewTechXS TNT Nov 11th
Going to update that when the results come out? I had a 47.90 PM. Todays shootout was intense! Congrats to Mike. I love the concept of competition at these events. Its the first time I've seen that may people present at the end of the event. Its a shame I wont be making any top 5 shootouts anytime s...

Re: Karting on the Isle of Man
Dang that's scary fast! I'd like to give it a shot. I wonder how often there are serious injuries doing that. Reminds me of our ~45hp, 300lb w/driver go kart @ school. You know to shift when your head is no longer pinned backward. Video doesn't do it justice... but it would near triple digits speeds...

Re: Timing trailer???
If you guys need help... I'm an engineer at a company that designs and builds broadcast vehicles (http://www.bickfordvehicles.com/). I have access to a full sheet metal shop, and I can easily handle doing all the drawings/3d modeling of said trailer. We actually do a lot of custom trailers for the f...

Going to swap the spare motor into the Saturn shortly. I've read reports of several buy-in members receiving their coil-overs Its only a matter of time before I'm on R comps and coil-overs

Camera Mounts
If anyone needs a camera mount to record some of their runs, I've got about 10 of them for sale. They are capable of supporting some fairly large cameras (see pic below), but will have some wobble at high speeds. I usually use a point and shoot digital camera, and it works perfect. Unlike the "...

Kyle, any further interest in this? I'd really like to buy something CDC, but not a hat or collared shirt.

I am interested in becoming an organizer. Maybe you guys can advertise on the forum here that you are looking for organizers. Some basic information about what is expected of an individual and what they get in return would be nice. Or you could just have people inquire through PM and then send them...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
The club could spend money in a variety of ways but I don't think we want to spend it on cheap trophies. They're little more than junk and end up being tossed in a drawer and eventually thrown away. This is why we custom make all of our trophies and personalize them and make them unique from all th...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
Do I think it will change the atmosphere of the club, if we change the index system, YES. I think it will be more competative and less for fun. I'm confused. I get the feeling many of you think "Competitive" and "Fun" are mutually exclusive terms. To many of us, competition IS f...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
Kyle, what I was suggesting was if everything was manually entered from the score sheets (6 runs, 3 index values/modifiers). Your scoring system should be able to write to a data file, correct? That should really only take a matter of seconds to manipulate. Regardless, the point I was trying to make...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
I'm somewhat against NASA rules. I like them, and they make sense, but they are very complicated. As Gonz stated, keep it simple. In order to find the proper classing for a car everyone has to essentially read a book and tally up each mod. Sucks for newbies, and people who are lazy. I like the idea ...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
Also, if we are devising a new system, do we want to be competing in one big group with modifiers (like the current system), or in separate classes (like SCCA)? One big group with modifiers seems good to me. CDC doesn't have the cars to fill separate classes. I'm siding with TubeDriver right now. G...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
Anybody can win in any car, whether they drive a Ferrari or a Geo Metro. Shouldn't auto-x reward whoever is fastest around the course? The fastest auto-x cars tend to be "light" weight, have sticky tires, 200+ hp, and are driven by genuinely fast drivers. Yes, autox should reward who is f...

I am also very displeased with the current index system. My thoughts: -- The index system punishes you for consistency, which is something all racers should be striving to achieve. -- The index system kills competition on a large scale, and breaks it down into small groups on an individual event bas...

How about some non-collared shirts?
