Re: Hyperfest

A couple of things. One being those are what came with the kit... I know not the best reason, but I figured would be a good starting point and I can always get different ones later. I assume the ohlins guys aren't completely useless (it is a road/track kit so is compromised somewhat). I know most f...

Re: FRS/BRZ queations

I have seen quite a few issues online. Some do not bother me but there seems to be a few serious ones. Go to this web site for starters ft86club.comforums/forumdisplay.php?f=72 I guess if none of you have had any serious problems that is great. I will be at this weekends autocross maybe I could tak...

Re: PAX Results

Heh, right so we can gawk at how "serious" they are. Kind of puts me in mind of the crazed little league father who says things like "hey that kid's birthday is prior to September 30th! He should be in the 8-10 age group! This is outrageous!" As all the other parents look on wit...

Re: PAX Results

http://generatormeme.com/media/created/qo2znd.jpg That's funny stuff right there  In PAX a simple rear splitter changes your class. And we all know that it's basically a joke bolt-on at our speeds. Tell that to the SRSBZNS autocrossers in the SCCA. Aero is becoming a fact of life at the pointy...

Re: PAX Results

I don't know a great deal about how PAX is calculated, I need to do more research. As a person who is starting to get into SCCA, I probably need to learn. I like this idea, because it is similar to the other proposed ideas as of late. It's an extra column in the results for those who want/care abou...

So what you're saying is we need one person to drive all the cars and figure out how they perform relative to each other. I'll volunteer!

Anyway, I am with Fred, it'l get dealt with if things get put of hand. Ed, where do we go from here? We've got a separate thread in the Organizer forum to discuss the best way to...

Re: FRS/BRZ Series??

I like this class. If it was open to STX cars Caitlin and I would totally run the mini in it except for the fact that we're organizers so our times don't count anyways :-P The upside to using the STX classification is that it's a well-defined set of rules. HOWEVER, there are multiple reasons why the...

STi. Hands down. Unfortunately Tom Celica is not up to the task with 205 ZIIs. Maybe Andy will bring out the 275 A6s this time. I think that meme should say "One does not simply...Beat Eric in Smallbore" :) Well I'll bring the STI and you, Jake and I can battle it out for fastest STI. :D

Re: Alignment in the Alexandria Area

Havent gotten it done yet but I was at alexandria mazda on route 1 and asked about aligning to my specs. I figure they have to know at least a little bit about the miata considering it hasnt changed much in 24 years. They said they could do it (note: doing it and doing it well might be something i ...

Re: Next CDC Autocross SATurday May 4th Bowie

I may run an event with my Invos to make it a fair fight...and to avoid the hassle of trailering the car...still haven't loaded it to see if it even fits my homemade (and narrow) car trailer. Barely fits the Camaro. I'm going to bet you're just going to do that once. Corvettes on street tires gets ...

Re: Alignment in the Alexandria Area

Got back in town last night. The camber gauge came in but I haven't had a chance to mess with it. Hopefully Friday I'll do a quickie alignment on the mini but then I'm busy all weekend with various auto-x events. Next weekend (11th) there is a BMWCCA auto-x but I haven't yet decided whether I'm goin...

Between Mike and I we're almost always working on one car or another. If you know how to weld I can put you to work for sure ;-) This weekend is a quickie alignment on the mini and then 2 days of auto-x. Next weekend is the exhaust on the STI and potentially aligning Jeff's miata. Then a day of auto...

Re: Alignment in the Alexandria Area

My garage isn't super level. Probably falls away 1/2 to 3/4" over 8ft so the one side of the car is a little lower than the other. I've aligned the mini a bunch of times and the STI once and haven't had any problems with tire wear/driving characteristics. One of these days when I get some time ...

Re: Alignment in the Alexandria Area

Do you need corner balancing done also? You'll probably have a hard time finding a place that will align to custom numbers that isn't an actual race/alignment shop. I know for a fact that the Firestone on US 1 will look at you like you have 3 heads if you ask them for numbers that aren't spec for th...
