Re: Test And Tune Structure?

Im new to the forum and CDC as well. My Wife and I just got started with autox here in Southern MD and we were wondering the structure of CDC test and tune events. I looked for info in the FAQ and forgive me if I missed it. How many runs are permitted, are we permitted to use the same car, i take i...

Re: Borrowing of a Ride for OCT 27/28 Event...

I'm at least one promotion away from anything more than one set of tires per year, that or perhaps my Wife will allow me additional sets for each visible abdominal muscle. Either way, for the foreseeable future I'm looking at one set per year. The hot set up on stock wheels among SCCA folk seems to...

D.C. region has a pretty healthy RCS class (Stock RX8's on street tires).
This would be a great place to start with the RX-8. Next would be moving to STX. All the top STX RX-8s are either running the Star Specs or the RS-3s.

Re: Borrowing of a Ride for OCT 27/28 Event...

I think the deciding factor on whether it's too early to jump to that would be if i were to see someone extract a significant amount of time from the car that i wasn't able to. That would solidify in my mind that there was still much improvement to be had and not to mask my errors with sticky rubbe...

wassup w/ the vette? Do you want the cliffnotes or the whole list? clutch and starter for one. It broke at the last Frederick event like 3 runs in. Clutch pedal went to the floor and won't pop back up. Which probably means the clutch hydraulics are messed up somehow in addition to the clutch ...

Re: Auto shop in Frederick for suspension work?

Hey all. I live down in Lexington Park, MD (basically the middle of nowhere), where there aren't any performance tuning shops. Can anyone recommend places in/around Frederick for suspension work? I installed some coilovers a few months back but I need to get proper height and damping adjustment as ...

Re: Where do you get your tires mounted?

I've gone to the Merchants Tire in Alexandria next to the Giant/Lowes and they did a crap job. Took chunks out of the inside of all 4 rims and didn't get them balanced properly. I had to take all 4 wheels back in and they re-balanced them but still didn't get them 100%. It was cheap but totally not ...

We had an awesome time on Saturday and are looking in to actually joining the club! It was only my second time (in 7 years) on an autox course but had a blast... I'm going to be faster next time. In addition to all the cool photos on CDC's Flicker page we figured we'd post a link for everyone to se...

For use with a 2004 WRX running a turbo-back exhaust system. Additional modifications such as uppipe and underdrive pulley are still within the acceptable parameters of this calibration. Stage 2 93 v130.pdf I've looked on Nasioc and there are plenty of people running headers with the Stage 2 map. O...

Re: Recommendations on TBE for 2011 WRX

I have a stage 2 2004 WRX with headers, UP, and TBE (HKS catted DP to SPT). I'm currently using a APv1 OTS map. With the OTS map, I'm running pretty rich and am looking to get a tune in the next year. Cobb builds their maps for safety. Each engine is slightly different and will require a slightly d...

I'm just going to preface this post with saying that I have very little personal experience with opensource tuning. However, I've been around Subarus for a while now (late 2008) and I spend waaaay too much time on the forums so I have an idea of what each option has to offer. I chose the accessport ...

Re: Recommendations on TBE for 2011 WRX

Torque and horsepower are related so it's hard to get a disproportionate amount of one without the other. However, with the freer flowing exhaust on the WRX you're going to be upping the boost fairly significantly (up to 21psi depending on tuner) so you'll get a significant amount of torque. My 08 S...

Thanks for everyone's input. There's a lot of great tips! I'll definitely pay more attention and plan better when I'm walking the course. I've been thinking of signing up for an autoX driving school, especially the ones offered by Evolution. I've read great things about them. What's also cool is th...

Re: $10 Discount at Hylton for 2nd slot Saturday July 14th

It comes down to insurance. Franklin and Jim requested to try the karts. I told them that you must have insurance coverage (e.g. paddock or similar insurace) for the karts. We tried this once before at Harry Grove but the surface was too rough and bumpy. If the Hylton isn't acceptable, we won't all...

I'll try and extract all the extra times tonight. I believe its pretty simple to do. I can just put them in a separate GDocs spreadsheet and share it. The Suxass still has a bit of tread left on the RA1s. Looks like we'll have to pass it around to some more folks at the next one! Sounds like I shou...
