Re: cheap lighweight battery
does everyone use the 12lb battery. I was thinking I might be able to get away with the smaller/cheaper one. I don't want to have to jump my car before auto-x. I could install a cut-off switch. I guess if everyone is running the 12lb battery I will just get that one. Why make my car annoying to star...

Re: cheap lighweight battery
miata.net had some people that pointed to motorcycle model numbers or tractor batteries from walmart. The motorcycle batteries were smaller than the odysey battery that you talk about. 4.5lbs, but you sacrafice some storage and CCA. The reason I was so excited for these is that I can get one for $59...

cheap lighweight battery
My battery died and I have been looking into a lightweight alternative. Especially since they are about the same price as a regular sized battery. I was wondering what you guys were running. It seems like some SM or SCCA people are running motorcycle or tractor batteries in their miatas with around ...

andrewtech aligned my car. They did a great job and will do any custom spec you want and also corner balance the car.

Re: FATT - May 14
I sold my OE seat for $25 ... I probably can find another OE seat for the same price to throw in the car I have Axxis Ultimates on the car (I seriously love these pads ... I used them exclusively on my passat and they are probably the only pad I will ever spend more than $10 on) The rotors are in go...

damn ... that looks like a ton of fun
I guess I need to upgrade my passengers safety equipment so I can do these in the future
What wheels/tires did you run ... I am assuming a day like that would eat your hoosiers in one day

I would call Andrewtech, they did a great job on my car. They will even do a custom alignment for you and I thought the price was more than reasonable. 240-683-1000
Re: Bowie 5/8
I thought drums took more pressure ... but I could be completely wrong. For some reason I thought that the piston area for the calipers was smaller than the area of the drum brakes. Again, I could be backwards. I would think that a proportioning valve would be the way to go. They way you can dial in...
Re: Bowie 5/8
That's only cause most cars have the bias towards the front brakes from the factory casue that where the weight transfers too.. But ya still need the back ones they do help out. I was mostly joking (everything except my brakes being seized and my times)... especially about disconnecting the brake l...
Re: Bowie 5/8
I went through all last season without knowing my rear calipers were seized ... my times havn't changed that much since last year
My conclusion, rear brakes aren't important, just disconnect the brake lines ... maybe my times will be closer to yours then

Re: Where/How to Buy Piloti Shoes
I got mine for like $30 shipped to my house. They are comfertable for all day at auto-x. But I don't think mine are full race shoes and are not super thin. The edges and the bottom are rounded for better heal-toe ... not like this is an issue at auto-x. But my basketball sneakers weren't comfertable...

I got mine off of buy.com or amazon.com.
I just googled for the cheapest/last years model. You can't try them on is the only issue.

3-pt belts are acceptable, but then it states that 4,5,6 pt belts may be used provided the same is available for the passenger .... that means I don't pass tech. I also don't have roll bar padding or an FIA passengers seat so I don't know that the "safety for the driver is equivalent for the pa...

the only problem with the one that you found, it's not an XR2, there is one up in Dayton, Ohio i will be going to look at. By the next event I will have the misfire solved If by solved you mean, you will now be running on only two cylinders, gas and oil will be spraying from the head (like Ed C's c...

Re: live web stream
I was actually thinking about this over the winter. The problems I think we face are that everyone that is free that day, or who could watch auto-x at home, will be at the event or another auto-x event. Also, auto-x generally looks slow and there is a lot of down time between cars/heats ect. It woul...

AWESOME ... it looks like I have to figure out the Dan K/Franklin wheel/tire method. I purchased 10' of 1" PVC pipe and 4 ratchet straps. (Dave?) Does anyone else want to split this stuff up. I have no need for that much PVC or ratchet straps. The stuffs not expensive, I just don't want to end ...

The car does not have abs ... but you were right. It took maybe half hour to bleed the whole car again and it made a HUGE difference.
