Re: 09/19 Summit Point

i said i was 3rd fastest front wheel drive car at this past event, but the events where some of the better prepared older honda civics are at, my podium finish quickly becomes an "also ran". i also get disapointed at myself when a last generation honda accord v6 coupe that appears to be l...

Re: 09/19 Summit Point

It's a bit hard, but def. good, to compare your times with mine and Jason's. Not because out cars might be set up better than yours, but i think we also have a considerable amount of seat time compared to you. Our cars(mine and yours) are a bit different. I have a beefy suspension, sticky street ti...

Re: 09/19 Summit Point

so looking at this weeks results. i'm the 3rd fasted FF car there, which is pretty good. losing to a 95 honda civic isn't so bad since that car is 10 years older than my scion, and probably considerably smaller and lighter than my car. and then the RSX type-s also beat me. the only thing that bothe...

Re: Joined up at SP...now what?

If you didn't pick a permanent number, then Email Ed Chan what you would like your number to be - and he'll get back to you with whats available. Other than that, your good to go. When you sign up for the next event, you use your Car # which is also used to identify you as a member. If you don't hav...

Re: 09/19 Summit Point

If anyone wants to drive the fit next time, let me know. I'd recommend riding first, because it's a different kind of FWD car, it doesn't quite handle like a civic as one would expect. The Fit is GO! lol :) I'd like to try the Fit, if your up for it, swap a run two with my car....you'd really enjoy...

Re: 09/19 Summit Point

Thanks for the replies. I actually like driving in the rain (just to illustrate). Very educational, as well as being fun. The car is actually pretty well behaved in the rain. And the Nitto NT-01s I often run on are actually a good rain tire. On the SP skid pad, I lose all of that, though. The bad p...

Re: 09/19 Summit Point

Yeah it was a good time. My first time out on the skid pad and it makes me wish I went to previous SP events. That slick pavement is exactly what I needed to practice flicking the car around. My vid from today, last run is the best if you want to just skip the rest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J...

Re: 09/19 Summit Point

...I'm just psyched that I dropped over 2 seconds from my first run and beat my goal of 39.9x. Now all I have to do is put what I learned on this slick pavement to some grippy pavement and I'll be happy. I second that. It feels my rear sticks so much now on the other courses, possibly a fear factor...

Stand up Freezer

I have a full size - 1 Door - stand up freezer. It was built back when they were made to withstand bombs. It works perfectly and has tons of room. Runs on a regular electric outlet. The drawbacks...its big and its green. The plus....its big, holds a lot, keeps temperature easily, seals great...We wo...

Great day all around - great job guys on designing a course that avoided all the obstacles, and was still challenging; one day we'll actually get to use the whole track :) . Yeah, I think next season I'll try an SCCA/autocross inc. event as well to see what they are like. Even if I like it, I imagine the bulk of my ax will always be done with CDC. John N I run all three venues this year. SCCA, AI, and CDC. SCCA runs events like a well oiled machine (except for the occa...
