Re: 2008 Annual Dues Will be $30
You could start a CDC paypal account to collect money for preregistrations. You could even allow people to pay their annual membership fee online.

That should work well then. Jen wants to run her own car and Jake and I will trade off with the L.
None of us would qualify for the advanced group, though.

Re: Shenandoah Track Video
Jen and I are both interested in attending the April 28th HPDE.
Jake might be interested as well. Is it possible or advisable for two drivers to run the same car in different sessions?

Fred said earlier that his Cobra would be a C2R, which is 1.03 tire, 1.02 HP, and 1.00 weight.

Re: Informal Awards Lunch and the New Index System
Buttdyno, I like the chart. Some corrections, though: -Brian's Civic weighs over 2,000 lbs (1.01 for weight) -FredK's Cobra has more than 150HP at the wheels (1.02 for HP) It would also be cool if you could sort them by Time, fastest first, and show another column with the difference from the fastes...

Re: Informal Awards Lunch and the New Index System
I do have a concern about the HP multipliers, though. Everything seems to have smooth transitions from one category to the next, except when you get above 350WHP. Suddenly you are jumped 2 points instead of one. I can't think of many vehicles that participate with this club that break 350WHP. It see...

Re: Informal Awards Lunch and the New Index System
I'll be there for the awards lunch. Jen can't make it since she is working. I like the new system so far. It looks pretty simple. If I could make a suggestion, I had an idea to possibly make classing easier to remember using labels. For example, we could assign letters to the weight categories. Cate...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
As for tires, Most of not all the top 10 cars at CDC are on Hoosiers or V710s. I may be the only person on worn out Victoracers who is close to the top 5. I have a new set of street tires (RE-01R) that I will use when my Victos cord out. You are partially right about not me competing, I don't care ...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
I would also weigh in against PAX based indexing. As a rule I hate it, because our fundamentally homebuilt cars have a huge range of variability in power (some 351 strokers, some supercharged, some big blocks, and some, like me, run wheezy old small block 5.0 EFI naturally aspirated plants) and oth...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
I had an idea that could greatly reduce the advantage of sandbagging. Currently, we average the last 3 event indexes for each participant. Instead, we could drop the lowest index of the last 3 and only average the remaining 2. For anyone that changes to a different car, it will take a couple events ...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
So what gets newcomers out to auto-x? Is the index accomplishing this by making them feel better about their performances? I would think the best way to attract newcomers would be to have a sale. The Andrewtech & TurboXS sponsored event was a great idea, in my opinion. However, you could probabl...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
I think we are straying further from the solution - as stated by the man himself. On the practical note, I personnally think that getting the results done is a pain the butt as it is. If we go to another format, we need to figure out who is going to do the results. If Pete wants to be responsible to...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
As far as the theory of increasing the number of averaged events for the current index, I don't believe that will be effective against sandbagging. I put together a little spreadsheet that uses my indexes for this year (including only 3 sandbag events) and compares a 3-event-average to a 5-event-ave...

I updated the Shootout results here: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pOhmCvW7xLA1co_5aXGKjaw Fred is the official winner of the season finale shootout. I disqualified myself for illegal tire warming. I already gave away the free alignment, but I'll buy him one at Andrewtech if he wants it. :)

Re: Winning the CDC Points Championship
I do have a problem with marking yourself O.C, I cannot believe that is part of your strategy, I don't know if it's O.K. to lie and change your own score sheet, but I doubt that it is within the spirit of the rules. While I'm on the subject, in a six man shootout everyone running two runs it would ...

Winning the CDC Points Championship
All of this may soon be obsolete if the club changes to a new system next year, but I thought I would share some information about my efforts to win the championship for 2007 - playing by CDC's rules. First, I will skim over the obvious stuff. You need a fast car, and you need to be a relatively goo...

Re: Sandbaggin
Sandbagging kills your average score, but does wonders for your index. I disagree. Look at Brian. He is potentially FTD at any event. His average is 166.7 points per event. If he sandbagged at one event, he might get 90 points, but the following 3 events would probably look something like 200, 198,...

Re: INDEX SYSTEM
I agree, Ted.
If you are going to average every event, you need to incude every event. My average should be 166.92 (2337/14).
Dan's average gets even better at 167.5 and Jake is at 164.7.

Re: LAST AX for 2007 Nov 10th & AndrewTechXS TNT Nov 11th
I can't think of a better place to gain some buyer interest than to put a good driver in it ( bugbomb), swap on some race tires and dominate all the 02, 03, 04, 05, 06 & 07 WRX models with the new car. That would be my dream job. Unfortunately, I don't think I am that well-qualified for the pos...
