Harry Grove March 19th 2011 Results

Post by BugBomb »

The beginning of a new era.

I have tested this a few different ways and it seems to work fine, so let me know if you have any problems. This is the first draft of our new results reporting with CDC. With this google docs spreadsheet, you can view all the runs for every participant. Most importantly, all the results info is on a neat, sortable list. Click on any column header to sort by that data. Want to see smallbore results? Click on the Smallbore Column.

Let me know if you see any changes that need to be made. I am still working on the season championship pages but you will likely see those within the next week.

Thanks, Mike.

The real praise should go to Joe Seward. What I have done is merely tweak what is ultimately Joe's creation. Thanks to him, results are about as simple as clicking a button.

I think Wade needs a weight penalty, but don't know how to mount 400 lbs. into his car. Maybe just a special Wade index. That was some incredibly fast driving.

The only problem we had with timing today was that I forgot to plug in the timing laptop. At least Mike recovered quickly from the shut down.

Love the new results format...nice job guys! Nice job pulling off the first event so smoothly too. Sure felt good to be back out there. :)

Joe - It's funny...I sorted the results by indexed time and came away with a completely different conclusion. ;)

Who can I slip a 20 too and have my results from today miraculously appear in place of yesterdays?

Great 1st event guys and thanks to Joe and Mike for the quick results turn-around.... It was really cool having the real-time results monitor at the rear of the announcer's tent, too! Loving the additions for 2011 guys and kudos to Larry for a cool course design.

Hey all. I wanted to give a quick "thanks" to the folks I spoke with on the 19th. I was the guy in the Fire/Rescue buggy, parked by the entrance. Unfortunately, I was unable to make it down on Sunday but I would like to catch the next event.

Great to be back on course! I really like the new results format too.

Joe, how close are we to having that team of robots that sets up and tears down the course? Doesn't seem like we're too far away ;)

Thanks to everyone who helped set up this event. I know I had a great time. It's a good start to the 2011 year!

For anyone who is interested, here are pictures that I took Saturday. I apologize ahead of time that most of them are biased to myself and the group of people I was with, but I snapped a few shots of some other vehicles. Sort through them and maybe you'll luck out :)

And if anyone sees something they like, I have higher res. versions I can email out.

I miss the old days when we would drive the course in Richard's old van throwing cones out the side. I really wanted a cone ejection system to drop them so that we wouldn't even need to slow down.

Actually, I think we're just about done with the timing system. The results computer is also our hot backup that can be used to run the event if the timing laptop goes down hard. I just need to weatherproof it. Now that it's stable, we can tweak it to do whatever the club needs.

As I mentioned Saturday, I work in a firehouse, there is nothing that was said that have not heard before!

Great first event!

Thought I'd try something different with the cameras:

Man, I'm slow. I need a veteran to ride with me in the next event to tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or, at the very least, he/she could just keep yelling "STOP COASTING AND USE THE THROTTLE MORE."

Since I will be jockeying my 2011 GT Mustang for the foreseeable future, I'll be happy to ride along and yell at you.

I guarantee you that your car is more capable than you think.

I got mine down into the mid 41s on Sunday during the Test n Tune. Not too shabby for a bone stock porker.

The car, I mean, well, maybe me too!.
