CDC Halloween Autocross SATurday October 29th and TNT SUNday

Post by echan »

SATurday October 29th Halloween Autocross ($5 discount if you wear a costume and $10 discount for second slot)

Harry Grove Stadium, Frederick, MD is the location of the Halloween autocross on SATURDAY October 29th. We will also have a Test and Tune SUNDAY October 30th.

Registration and tech inspection will be at 8:00 and will promptly close at 8:45 to try to accommodate the full field, while still giving 6 runs. You must be DONE by 8:45. So if you arrive at 8:00 you won't have a problem. Don't arrive at the last minute.

The event fee for the Saturday autocross is now $30 for members and $40 for non-members at this event. ($5 discount if you wear a costume)

$10 Discount on Second Slot for Saturday October 29th at Harry Grove

For anyone paying for a second slot, the second slot will be $10 off. So if you are a member the second slot for a member will only be $20. If the second slot is for a non-member the cost will be $30 (rather than $40).

The second slot can also be used the same driver (e.g. they would drive in two heats) or for a guest.

To sign up for a second slot:

1. Make a second reservation (for you or the guest)
2. Type "Second Slot" in the Notes Section (if it is for a guest, state your name - e.g. second slot guest of John Doe). You must type "Second Slot." Otherwise, we may think you mistakenly submitted duplicate reservations.

-Several people used the second slot for a guest (some that never autocrossed with CDC)
-Many participants used the second slot to get 12 runs
-Some used the second slot to be a point autocross in the 6 morning runs (since only the first 6 counted for points) then treated the afternoon as a TNT by trading cars with other two slot participants

This offer is only extended for the Saturday event (not the other day) at Harry Grove on October 29th, 2011. So if you are a member wearing a costume AND get a second slot the total cost for 12 runs is only $45 ($30 + $20 - $5).

SUNday October 30th Test and Tune Day (No discount for costume, but feel free to wear one anyway! Also no discount for second slot)

These Sunday Test and Tune Events will be held the day after the Saturday Harry Grove Stadium Autocrosses in Frederick , MD. The Test and Tune event will be an informal autocross using the same/similar course as the day before. The differences are the following:

Field is limited to 40 participants with about 5 organizers (for a total of 45 vehicles).
Times will be announced and recorded on the timesheet, but no results, no points, and no indexes will be posted –This is only for fun
No extra runs if we miss a time – This is only for fun
The format will be 2 heats with 5 morning and afternoon runs (number of runs in the afternoon will depend on time and weather conditions. We hope to give 9 to 11 runs).
No food or drinks will be provided – We need to keep the amount of equipment to a minimum. So plan on either bringing drinks and food or going out to lunch.
Event is open to members and their guests only, since the event is so limited in size.
The entry fee is $35 per member, $45 for non-members.

All 40 slots will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

New Members

We will be accepting new members at this event. If you plan to join the club at this event, you may make a reservation at this time by doing the following:

1. Use "0" as the member number (a permanent number will be assigned to you after you join and you will get a temporary number for this event)
2. TYPE "I will be joining the club at this event" in the NOTES section when making you reservation.

The annual membership is $30 and is good for 12 months from the date you join.

If you have any questions, let me know at capitaldriving@yahoo.com.

I'll be there again. Only problem is I read this thread after I signed up so I didn't do the stuff correctly for becoming a new member. Though I'm fairly sure if I show up and hand someone cash money all will be well. :D

Yup it will, Jenn will take care of you at registration and make sure you don't pay over what you should for the event and becoming a member.

sure they do, I drove a miata in the snow with an open LSD on snow tires and it handled better than my subaru with all season's did.

That being said... it's going to be like a mm of snow if any :-P

That's because all seasons suck. They should not even be allowed to be sold.

Yeah, but it will still be cold and rainy. I'm not worried about the snow; it'll be melted before it matters (if it snows at all), but 45* and damp sounds dreadful.

Can I switch my reservation to Sunday?

It was snowing when I got up today in New Hampshire, I drove my truck and trailer home, on slicks. You kids need to toughen up. I'm glad your parents aren't on here.

My Miata is coming to visit this weekend too. Maybe I'll ..nevermind.
