Awards Lunch on Saturday February 25th

Post by echan »

The awards lunch will abe at Saturday 2/25/12.

Many have suggested that this time we hold the informal lunch in VA this time.

1. Ideally the place needs to be able to hold about 25 people with the ability for all to talk to each other.
2. The food is affordable (less than $15).

Any suggestions?

My vote goes to a brew pub. If we're thinking VA, might I suggest something like Arlington or Alexandria so it's not too far of a drive for our northern friends. Here's a couple suggestions.

You could call up Hard Times Cafe in Springfield. I think they have a party room upstairs that you can reserve. It is also right off 495/95 so it is easy to access.

Lost dog is amazing. Huuuge beer selection and great food. The columbia pike location has a back room that could possibly fit us. We'd have to call and see how many it seats and make sure to reserve it. Plenty of free parking under the building.

For ease of acces, hard times in springfield may be best. Right off the beltway and plenty of space for us.

I highly recommend both :)

OK I made a reservation for the back room upstairs for the Springfield Hard Times Cafe at 11:30 (to accomodate birthday parties)

Place: Hard Times Cafe in Springfield, VA (next to K-Mart)
Date: Saturday 2/25/12
Time: 11:30 am

If you have not been to an awards lunch, we don't have any speaches or anything. Just lunch and I give out the awards to people. People can also discuss various issues (e.g. changing indexes or bringing back grilled chicken). Basically, it just a very low key lunch to see everyone before the season starts and for the 2011 winners to get their free passes.
