Harry Grove October 27th Results
Sorry about the delay, everyone. We had some tough times with the equipment this weekend. The main timing laptop completely died on me Saturday night, and the backup had some strange issues. I got it all sorted out this morning and now you may view the results for Saturday October 27th.
Let me know if you see any problems with the results, either by posting in this thread or sending me a private message.

This. Love Harry Grove but that crack makes me cringe every time I drive over it.AJ_RDR_Civic wrote:...yay for not hitting the crack in the middle of the lot dead on...
Thanks to the organizers, the course was a lot of fun.

This was my best points showing of the season! I do wonder though, how are the points calculated?

Re: Harry Grove October 27th Results
Nate, I am not sure what art of the points calculation you are looking for so I will explain it all. Here are the index values:
Tire Multiplier1
(1) Street Tires = 1.00
(2) R-Compound Tires With Treadwear Rating 100 - 139 = 1.02
(3) R-Compound Tires With Treadwear Rating < 100 = 1.035
Horsepower Multiplier2
(1) 100 HP or less = 0.99
(2) 101 to 150 HP = 1.00
(3) 151 to 200 HP = 1.01
(4) 201 to 250 HP = 1.02
(5) 251 to 350 HP = 1.03
(6) Over 350 hp = 1.03
Vehicle Weight Multiplier3
(1) Vehicle weight 1,501 to 2,000 lbs = 1.02
(2) Vehicle weight 2,000 to 2,500 lbs = 1.01
(3) Vehicle weight 2,501 to 3,000 lbs = 1.00
(4) Vehicle weight 3,001 to 3,500 lbs = 0.99
(5) Vehicle weight > 3,500 lbs = 0.98
(6) Vehicle weight < 1,500 lbs = 1.03
Once you have your index values, your time gets multiplied by all 3 index values to get your index time. We sort the results by index time to award points. The top index time gets 100 points, next gets 99, etc. However, club organizers do not take away points from regular participants, so you will see some points values get repeated. That just means one of them is an organizer.

Also Organizers are not eligible for prizes. The points for Organizers is just for reference.BugBomb wrote:However, club organizers do not take away points from regular participants, so you will see some points values get repeated. That just means one of them is an organizer.

Re: Harry Grove October 27th Results
Oh I see, I thought that maybe it was a percentage of the fastest time multiplied by a constant or something, some other type of algorithm. I didn't realize it was so straight forward. Seems like there would be more points value attending an event that fewer people came to.

Depends on how many people you plan on finishing behind and how many of those people are the ones skipping. I.E. finish first all the time then it won't matter.Nathan Atkins wrote:Seems like there would be more points value attending an event that fewer people came to.

Well half of winning is showing up. I'm not in the points chase for CDC this year because of too many conflicts with other events I've been going to and with CDC's new count x events rather than drop x number of events. Will probably be the same next season, hope to make more distant events for more STC competition.
