Re: 2013 CDC Schedule
I was looking through the FAQ and I didn't see anything about CDC's rain policy. I know most AutoXs are rain or shine, but to what degree? I just don't want to drive out to Frederick and find out it's been cancelled.

Re: 2013 CDC Schedule
Except for cases of Hurricane conditions, it is usually still on. That said, I think it was 2011 where there was a hurricane forecast to hit in the afternoon and we still had an event in the morning see pic below. Generally speaking, we will huddle in the cars for safety if there are lightning strikes near, but as long as everyone is safe and the timing equipment will still work they will try and do runs.

Re: 2013 CDC Schedule
Aww yeah, I was there for the Hurricross. Plenty of rain at that one.
Last year we had a T&T where it started raining pretty hard. Runs continued until lightning started and then they called it and told everyone to pack up and leave. Probably a safety/insurance issue.

As far as lightning -in the car is safe ... but the workers next to the light poles
if there is lighting within x number of miles (I forget right now) then we have to shut down until there is no more lighting strikes in the area for at least an hour. It is very much a safety concern

I literally got my ZII's mounted yesterday. Damnit! Looks like all-seasons for at least Saturday, Sunday says overcast.

Re: 2013 CDC Schedule
Rain/sleet driving just helps to hone skills, right? That's what I'll keep telling myself tomorrow.
Anyone else remember the "snow-cross" from a year or two ago. Darn shame we had to cancel - was looking forward to some good slides (only about 6 participants showed up)
See you all tomorrow. My vote is that the first person who loses it has to go buy everyone a coffee.

True that ^^ full tread summers usually make good rain tires. The cold may not help much. But deep tread will be a great help.
