Bowie June 1st Results
Bowie June 1st Results
Sorry for the delay. I had to recover from a week-long vaction in Florida before posting the results.
Some interesting developments at Bowie this time. Craig grabs his 2nd FTD this season. Jared continues a strong showing with a 2nd place raw time. Jared still leads the Index Championship before any drops, but it is still really early in the season. Franklin managed to de-throne Eric at this event and get top index and smallbore. That will help Franklin a lot in both championships, but Eric still has a lot of perfect scores under his belt.
Let me know if you see any problems with the results, either by posting in this thread or sending me a private message.

Re: Bowie June 1st Results
Joe and I drove the same TR6, but the index we entered was not consistent. No need to change since our points don't count.
The title on top says "drop 6 events" When it should read "Top 9 events count". This was a change in wording in case some of the events get cancelled.
Overall, the event was pretty good! We ended up with 108 participants and finished with the last car running at 4:10 pm. We would have even finished earlier but got delayed by the ball player's motorcoach and team cars.
Hope to see you all on Sunday June 16th (Father's day).

Mike Adrian's afternoon runs were in Jared's Miata so they should have Jared's index applied to them. Thanks for taking care of the results!

Also, unless Fred and "Big Hoss" have managed to drop over 200lbs. of their cars, they are hurting themselves by being in C132 when all other FR-S/BRZ's are C133.CaitieD wrote:Mike Adrian's afternoon runs were in Jared's Miata so they should have Jared's index applied to them. I don't think I'm authorized to send you a PM, but my index is incorrect. Index currently reads as C311S, but should be C322S. Member# 741

Re: Bowie June 1st Results
Fred Highland pointed out during the event that the results computer appeared to be showing incorrect indexed times. I didn't get it at the time (hey, it was hot), but the answer is simple. On the individual driver dialog, raw times are shown *without* cone penalties, but indexed times include cone penalty time. On the overall list, raw times include cone penalties (so they can be compared with everyone else's "best"). I know, I confuse myself sometimes.
BTW, if anyone has ideas for making the live results better, feel free to bring it up here or at an event.

Re: Bowie June 1st Results
I noticed something else strange, possibly a bug in what you are using to generate the spreadsheet. Tom Lay's (04 S2000) index score doesn't seem to have been computed correctly. Assuming I did the simple math correctly, his index time should be 42.07. It doesn't effect me, but he would drop to 6th instead of 3rd as far as points go. The other quick S2000, which is in the same class, does seem to have been computed correctly.

Re: Bowie June 1st Results
It appears that Tom's index changed half-way through the day. His morning runs were logged as C133 and afternoon as C143. Either he switched cars or he made a revision to his index.

Re: Bowie June 1st Results
Hmmm...I know Tom, and he usually indexes as a C143. I personally changed my index from C133 to C143 for this event, because a stock S2000 dynos around 190-200 HP, even though it's 240HP at the crank. I had picked "150-200 HP" before because my car has over 100,000 miles, but now I have an intake, high flow cat, and cat-back exhaust.BugBomb wrote:It appears that Tom's index changed half-way through the day. Plus I've noticed other S2000s indexing as C143.

Re: Bowie June 1st Results
I'm C143. I registered as a walk on and they must have entered me as C133. For the morning runs, the starter entered my number. For the afternoon, Ed scanned my barcode, which reads C143

I registered as a C143, too. Assuming 240 crank horsepower and 15 percent driveline loss, this puts us at 204 rwhp.
I figure C143 is right, and I'll use that in the future.

Re: Bowie June 1st Results
Dynos show about 200 whp stock, so that's what I base it on. Other STR cars always registered as C143 as well, so I follow suit.Jim Harris wrote:I registered as a C143, too. Assuming 240 crank horsepower and 15 percent driveline loss, this puts us at 204 rwhp.

BTW, nice S2000 Jim. We match with the Silverstone and black wheels. Any thoughts of running it in STR?

Great minds think alike, or something like that, Tom.
It will grow into an STR car by early August, suspension parts ordered.
