I got my current numbers from Race Day Vinyl, but that website isn't around any more. Does anyone have a good source for magnetic numbers?

There is no correct answer.... many places to buy.... I am sure just about any local graphics/sign shop can cut them for you also.

I've ordered from iZoom twice and gotten them promptly and with a nice hand-written note both times!

Mike Snyder at SSC Tint and Graphics in Elizabethtown, PA. He's a fellow autocrosser and does excellent work (he did the vinyls on the mini).

Caitie, I made my own. Bought a used Cricut Mini Vinyl cutter off ebay (under $100), bought some cheap sheet vinyl and a roll of sheet magnet and went to work. After the initial investment of the cutter, I can do new numbers for just a few dollars each. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cricut-Mini-Die ... 51b6c26a5e

The one above is new for $79 new, but you can find them used for even less...

I have removable vinyl from davidfarmerracing@gmail.com. $8/digit, $3 shipping, any font you can find on the internet. Never asked about magnets.

If you supply the magnets, I can get you vinyl numbers in any font of your choosing with many color options. We're the folks that have been selling vinyl decals at the CDC events.

I recently redid my own numbers because the print was faded. I don't have pictures with me but I think they turned out great. They are just a white background magnet sheet ~ 12"x12"with black vinyl text. The vinyl we use is UV resistant so it won't fade anytime soon and it's removable should you ever choose to change it up. Let me know!

Here are some samples we previously posted:

Give Franklin a call. He has all the RDV equipment after we folded the business. I don't know if he has it setup yet.

For those interested in making your own with a cutter (now or in the future), i couldn't recommend the cricut (via ebay) below. You will destroy that machine in a few uses... that is unless you are using like a very-very light promotional magnetic material. The really light magnet stuff won't stick to the doors of a Miata, and should be considered one time use. We were using 3-5 mil material at a minimum. Sometimes 8mil depending on the request.

Equipment:
At minimum you need a true roller fed machine, on the cheap this 14" one would work ($199) - http://www.uscutter.com/USCutter-MH-Ser ... t-Software

Be sure to get a lot of Roland blades, 45degree and 60degrees. 1 blade usually only will go as far as 2 sets of numbers, then they get too dull.

I can answer any questions if someone is interested in getting in the business, or just wants to do it as a hobby. It's a lot more involved and expensive than you would think, but it's a lot of fun being able to make your own stickers, magnets, etc.

I would recommend Scott if he was still in the business, but...

This. He made me some "I want people to be able to see this from space" magnets for the Evo:
