I just learn (from Garry Ray) that one of our CDC members, Jim Kirk, has passed. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.
I know Jim liked to autocross with us at Capital Driving Club, and I use to joke that he was the Star Ship Caption of the USS Enterprise (as if he never heard that before). I'll miss him.
Below is what Garry wrote to me:
Hello Ed --
I don't know if you're aware of this, but CDC member Jim Kirk (who's been running with CDC since last year I think) has recently passed away.
Jim was a good guy and I know he was really happy to have joined up with CDC and to resume an active participation in motorsport.
There's an announcement and guestbook here.

Thanks

Re: Jim Kirk's Recently Passed Away
Sad news. We chatted at multiple autocrosses this year - CDC and SCCA. Real nice guy. Life is short.

Re: Jim Kirk's Recently Passed Away
So sorry to hear of this. Jim seemed a wonderful person and I looked forward to seeing him at many autocrosses down the years.
Heartfelt condolences to his family. Know that he will be missed by many.

I'll also post on the CDC Facebook page. Also if you get a chance, please post on the funeral home's guest list. I"m sure the family would like to hear everyone's kind words (I doubt they look at the CDC form/Facebook page).
