2008 Awards Lunch with 2009 Index Ideas
2008 Awards Lunch with 2009 Index Ideas
We hope to schedule the 2008 Awards Lunch at Roy's Place (same place as last year http://www.roysplacerestaurant.com) near the end of February.
The awards that we are giving this year is digital slot cars. These cars are made in England, many were not in stock at the local Hobby Shop but were promised that we can get them shipped. To make the long story short, several cars are no longer available thru the UK, and I've had to order thru the Internet from various dealers. Not all the cars have been delivered but should arrive soon, at which time we'll schedule the award lunch.
I want to keep everyone informed on the status and to let everyone know that I haven't forgotten about the lunch.
Also at this lunch, I'll bring a white board to discuss the 2009 Index ideas.
Sorry for the delay.
Ed

Ed,
Will you be emailing everyone as well? I don't know how many folks read the forum during the off-season and might miss out on a great opportunity to meet up, say "hi", and chime in towards 2009 suggestions.

Will the service be the same as last year (horrible)?

Their are several cool places in downtown Frederick. You could have it here since most of the fast guys live or work here.

If the weather holds, how about a BBQ?
Re: 2008 Awards Lunch with 2009 Index Ideas
We picked Roy's because it's about midway from those in VA and those in Northern MD. A BBQ would be great, but like you said who knows about the weather. It was super nice yesterday but they are calling for snow on Saturday.
If anyone has a suggestion for a different place in the Gaithersburg/Rockville area, I'm open to suggestions.

How about we just order whenever and have them bring out food as it's ready? If we have 25 people trickling in or not hungry initially, people can order when they want?
Or would that be too rude? I am throwing this option out there so that the restaurant can cater to other parties/folks as they come in as well.
I will be giving a headcount Thursday or Friday....so if you are attending, please post up! Thanks!
