Loss of 10/17 event at Summit Point

Post by earl998 »

What is the story on the cancellation of this event? Sure hope we don't lose the use of this lot. I know everyone does'nt feel the same, but S.P is my favorite lot.

They probably decided to dig up the surface again.

Actually, looking at their calendar, it looks like they booked the skidpad for the karts.

That's what i'm worried about. It looks like they are favoring the karts over cars. I enjoy the karts also, but wish they would build a track dedicated just for the karts. Though it looks like maybe they have, and we are going to lose this lot. That would really suck.

Jens Scott is offering all CDC members a $10 discount for karting on the Triple Skid Pad on Saturday October 17th. The coupon is good for your first secession you attend that day and can not be used mulitple times.

I was asked to make up a coupon for CDC and distribute it. I'll send it out on to our e-mail list shortly. If you didn't get the coupon, just e-mail me at capitaldriving@yahoo.com and I'll e-mail the coupon.

Does the coupon work if we already have a Summit Point Karting membership?

I don't know. Ted just told me that Jens said to make the coupon for $10. The only stipulation that I was told is that you can't use the coupon more than once. So if you attend additional events, you can't use the coupon a second time.

I didn't hear if it is or not valid to karting membership rates.

Anyone have any info on rates? If the coupon is good for guests I was thinking of going up with a friend who has no interest in autocrossing his own car. I'm a little hesitant to do so until I have an idea how much it'd cost overall, though.

When we went as a group (some of the CDC guys after autoxing) I think I paid close to $80 all said and done. I must've raced like 3 times, and I bought a membership. I also didn't get my T-Shirt. :(

Will this event be rescheduled? It seems like no one wants to talk about the autocross that we lost, just the karts.

Highly doubt it will get rescheduled. We have more events to go and no free weekends to reschedule it on.

That was a fun race...my buddy and I finished first in that race. It was like driving on ice- spun out about 3 times on the first lap I think
