Re: 11/7 Bowie AX
Thanks for the update on the mystery. Due to the high levels of stress and mental trauma this has caused me, I should automatically be given FTD...

Well I will only settle for one of the two, FTD or slowest time of the day. No, I will NOT abbreviate that into an acronym!

Re: 11/7 Bowie AX
So how is everyone going to pre-warm their track tires tomorrow?
It's gonna be cold until the PM runs. I'm thinking passive heating methods, like black plastic covers for the tires, combined with bubble wrap.

Ha, I will pop all your bubblewrap! 1/1000th of a second will be added to your run times with each pop sound you hear...

I'm not sure how many people drove it but that little car can scoot now. The question is when are you putting R comp's on it?

There are three things I must know:
1) Who took this photo (http://www.flickr.com/photos/worstphoto ... 089105066/) and can I have reproduction rights to a high-res version?
2) How fast was Dan?
3) How fast was Frank?

Re: 11/7 Bowie AX
Thanks to ED C & all the organizers for another fabulous event! Had a blast, especially after it warmed up. Set two personal records with CDC at this event, most cones (+3) as well as fastest time (42.10 clean). Sad there is only one more, no ice autocross?! See everyone at HGS! The new Lotus 7 replica was very nice.
Actually, to give full credit, Mike M was the head organizer and course designer, I was just there as a regular organizer. From an organizer's view, this was a very well run event, with very few problems. We started the first car right on time at 9:30 am and the last car ran at 4:25, which was right on target of our 4:30 target.
Great job by all the organizers!
-Ed O, I didn't drive your car. I drove Francois' STI instead. That car is super fast. I couldn't help but to laugh when I hit the gas!

Couple helmet cam videos of Danny's beautiful Caterham.
My third run, trying to have some fun at the end hanging it out:

Mike Moran's first run:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNapr7NzRBg
I think both runs were in the 28.xx. Very, very fun car... just feels weird (strange combination of awesome and awkward) to be slung out behind the axis of rotation...

Yeah, that's unfortunately low on the priority list. I want to redo the suspension first. THEN, consider more grip. I'd like to get a something wider than 225's, but don't want to deal with fender flares, etc. I like the stock stealth look.

I road in it, it was pretty sweet . It needs more rear traction though, the rear feels just like it does on my rx-7.... all over the place all the time.saint_foo wrote:So who all got to drive/ride in my Miata? I hopefully will drive it at the next Frederick event.

That camera view is great! Too bad you didn't stay in the car for my next run. I look a little "slow" in that video.edfooliu wrote:Couple helmet cam videos of Danny's beautiful Caterham.

HUGE thanks to Danny for letting me drive his 7. That car is amazing!

Re: 11/7 Bowie AX
Ed's miata only needs r comps. Not even really wide ones. The rear end grip was fine. More folks should have ridden in it when I drove it. Anstrom rode with me in it for one run and was completely giggling the whole run.

Re: 11/7 Bowie AX
I hope to have the low end tuned a bit better. It's too sensitive regarding the AFRs down below 2000rpms. It was great after I left Braineack's house...then as soon as I got on the highway or home, it had problems idling. Argh. Well, it's about 95% there....just need a couple things ironed out and it'll be a 100% emissions-legal fun car!
