Harry Grove Update

Post by BugBomb »

I just went out to the lot and spoke to the man running the street sweeper. He had already swept the lot once when I got there. He said they would let it dry today and sweep it again tomorrow. Once that is complete, the rain expected on Friday should do a good job of cleaning the remaining dirt. We may still have a little dust on the track Saturday, but it will likely clean off by the afternoon runs.

Here are a couple pictures I took while I was there. They don't look very good, but considering what the lot looked like a week ago, I would say that is very good progress.

Everyone please do what you can (cross your fingers, write your congressman, sacrifice a chicken) to ensure that we get lots of rain on Friday. :)

LOL...I won't make either day this weekend. My 17th wedding anniversary is Saturday and shockingly, my wife didn't feel that sitting on the bank at Harry Grove would be a fun way to spend the day together. I'll be at Fedex on Sunday.

Consider it an introduction to rallycross. I'll bring a gas-powered leaf blower and extra broom.

I was just going to say, SOMEONE bring a leaf blower, I walk around like an idiot and blow dust off the track

lol i wish s3-gte.. i am now at 3 failed chances on geting my hands on one (which would be going in the MR2 anyways), no i picked up a "running" 7a replacment for $200, might do some other mods, but primarily looking at gettng it running for the moment, i got layed off 3 weeks ago so money is tight, and actualy im looking at getting and lsd for the auto. lol alot of people think that running an auto is a boon, but i would have thought that my performance with it last season would have been proof enough that is not always the case...

no as far as the celi goes, "IF" i do anything, it would be to finish the flow mods, get some form of data logging and fuel correction, LSD for the auto, new suspention, and perhaps a bit more weaght off the car.. oh and definatly rims and tires..

we will see.. time and money are the only two limiting factors here..

I swung bye on my way to work this morning, not good. It looks like the sweeper didn't make it back, and the rain didn't help at all.

Yeah, I just went out there to look. Its not good, but its not terrible. Reminds me of the earlier Summit Point auto-xes. With a little work, I think the course will be fairly clean, especially after a couple heats. I'm going out there early tomorrow to set up and start cleaning. If anyone wants to join me it would be much appreciated.

I'll try and come help, but I'm really good at convincing myself to go back to sleep Saturday mornings :P
