Oh dang....they're also cheaper than they were a month ago, too! I don't even need them, and I'm tempted to order a set...

Same. Frank and I were talking about hitting up the 24 hr autox and I'd rather not bring the graining 615's. Gotta check funds and then throw down. I've already bought V710s, SO5's (or as Mike knows them, A273594373's) and some wheels for the SO5's so I'm a little tapped out right now.

Wait....I must have missed this discussion. When and where is this 24 hour AutoX? That's right up my alley! :D

Frank has the details. We were comparing event notes after last weeks event and seeing what we have and dont have on our race calendars.

$117 each for 195/50/15

$97 each for 205/50/15

Is there a reason why the narrower tire is quite a bit pricier? Seems like going with the 205s on a Miata would be a no-brainer.

PS - still working on pictures. Didn't get as many keepers as I hoped but I'm out of practice shooting moving cars and I was trying to see how slow I could get the shutter and not wind up with junk. My keeper-to-trash ratio was something like 1:10

nice pics, add them to the CDC pool :D Then they will show up in the website's "Media" section instantly. I am not sure about other members but thats where I usually check first to see if new pics have been added.

I've heard of this before. It is probably this NC region event. I have no interest in driving my Miata for six hours. My back hurts when I get to Bowie.

It's sort of like triathletes, they can't run, ride, or swim, but if they do it long enough they'll win something.

Think of walmart. I'm sure they sell a whole lot more of the 205's thus letting them get better deals on them. Other then that my only guess is a surplus of that size or a discount from the manufacturer.

just checked the stock size for a 2001 Miata LS
$161 a pop....... I guess those 16" molds must be really expensive?

but it's OK as Dunlop StarSpecs are only $107 and still give me $50 rebate :)

OK first things first, pictures

http://www.flickr.com/photos/worstphoto ... 665724913/

They're also added to the CDC pool

I only put up 640x480 pics, if you want the original just drop me a note

I ordered the RE11s last night but Tire Rack says they won't have the 205/50/15 in their Delaware warehouse till the 24th and they won't be in my hands till the 29th. I'm too cheap to pay extra shipping to have them sent from another warehouse, so I will patiently wait. It'll give me more time to clean up the Koseis prior to reshoe-ing them.

Now I knew I threw off the balance when I went to softer springs (and kept the big swaybar), but holy crap...
That would explain why it was so delightfully loose

Thanks for the great shots; can I get a larger version of ^?

I've seen big time rear wheel lifting before, but usually on VW Rabbits. Not usually with Hondas, and I don't think ever with a coupe.

good times in the warmth, even if I never really got on with the course. my girlfriend had a great time at her first autox and did better than I expected, even if she couldn't reach the pedals without most of my floor mats and trunk carpet as booster seats!
