Back to Winchester 7-17-10

Post by bugman1964 »

Hey guys, we're back to Winchester this weekend. So far registration is light so make sure you tell your friends. The lot had good reviews last time and this time we will be busting out a back pack blower to help sweep the lot of some of the gravel.

What the weird vehicles mean is that the Suxarse has shite the bed for the moment (until Lare Bear does his witchcraft) so we might as well dream big.

I wanna codrive the F22. I just hope it has more traction than Ed's Miata. Now THAT'S a car begging for clown shoes. But what fantastic power!

Any changes to the barcodes in the past few events? I think the last time I printed mine out it was for the 1st Woodbridge event of this season.

The index barcode has changed. We can print one at the event, so don't sweat it. If you only drive your car and preregister with the correct index, we should have your index in the computer and will use that by default. The index barcodes are mainly for people that show up with different cars (or tires) or switch cars during the event. The good thing about having one on your car is that if someone hops in it for a few runs, they automatically get the right index.

this is killing me that i had to cancel my registration. the closest venue to me, and my civic has a blown shock and the miata has a bad wheelbearing. how is it i have 6 cars and only one really driveable right now? i mean REALLY? shocks have been ordered for the civic, and i've picked up a wheel bearing for the miata, but i don't have enough time to swap it out before tomorrow. :( i will be seriously missing this event and i don't wanna see this venue go away. i really like the lot and like how close it is to me, but i'm worried that next year it won't be considered by you guys..

which raises a question. when does this become non-profitable for you to run a venue? Winchester really isn't that far people! i drive from strasburg to manassas every day! come on!

It vary's depending on location. The organizers really like this lot too so your not alone. We just need more people to come out to it.

"raid" instead of "rade" whatever... I was just trying to drum up some participants for this weekend. We really need to get more participation there and Woodbridge. I think once people go there, it will be a popular site. They just need to give it a try.

Gotta love that barcode system. When things go smoothly, I barely have to change anything to import results.

Results for July 17th are up.

I hope everyone enjoyed this experiment and I would love to hear feedback about the course. Given the low turnout, I decided to see how far we could go with this lot. Personally, I am quite satisfied with a fairly high-speed course that lasted at least 50 seconds for most cars. The layout was extremely technical, and I think it threw many folks a very difficult "curve ball" to overcome.

I did a half-hearted coursewalk for no good reason & thought I could nail it down on a few ride-alongs as usual.

So absofreakinlutely not.

I did really horrible... (I got 5 Off courses...) but I actually did really love the course. nice and high speed and it wasn't too tight which was nice for my corollas slooooowwwww steering. I'd love to do more courses like that in the future.

That was an awesome day. My first event with CDC and had a great time, even in my car which desperately needs fresh pads etc. (waiting to go on) decent tires, and a serious driver mod. Thanks to all who set it up, and looking forward to some pics.

Also, new member here, CDC being about the fourth club/sanctioning body I've run with, but the only one with my membership money. I was seriously impressed with the hospitality, course design, and general attitude. Keep up the good work!
