Thank god its going to cool down, it was 103 ambient at VIR this past weekend and track temps were recorded at 143 degrees :o
Immediate drenching in sweat was a given.

I plan on being there with my 2000 M Coupe. I autocross with NCC, but this will be local so I am excited to come out and play.

Wow, 87 and no rain! That's most excellent!

On another note, i'd like to request the course designer for the weekend include an option box on the course like at the last event Those were quite fun.

Ugh, another autox in my backyard and I have to miss it. The Corolla blew up one of it's wheel bearings and the brakes went totally out on the last event with the BMW club. Unfortunately my full focus this weekend is to getting the car back and operational (assuming all my parts show up in the mail on time).

Or at least one with out abs. I have never owned a car with out ABS and thus know all I would do is lock them up.

I know I always say this but I had a great time. Really enjoyed the course even though I could have done much better, specially at the sharp turn and the down end of the second half. I continually plowed through there enough to grow corn, tell myself that is the slow line and need to slow down further to turn sharp and then gas it. I'd then proceed to carry too much speed and plow away.. lol. Anywho, I've uploaded my pics to the chapter pool, yeah, know the camera is cheap (to match the $20 vid camera-thanks Tony Hawk- :D ). Like the ability to have two cars going in opposing directions in one photo. The best is definitely this one of Ed in a spin-out in a borrowed miata.

I REALLY need to break down and get new tires, mine are about done & then I can drop another 1-2 sec.

The course was originally designed by Joe, but thanks to the cars wandering aimlessly onto our course, we had to use a large portion of our cones to block off all the entrances. Joe's design required more cones than we had available after that. In a down-to-the-wire decision, we scrapped half the course and improvised. So this is what it looks like when we don't exactly have a plan. I think it turned out well regardless.

I'll try to get the results up later tonight.

Yeah  describes my morning runs and every one of my runs until the last run. That was a hard course (good!). From running out of air int he morning and gas (got on grid and realized my gas light was on!!) Then realizing my Traction Control was on the first run of the afternoon. It was...interesting lol. Had a lot of fun, interested to see the results.

Agreed on the results....there seemed to be a concentrated group in the 39.9-41.0 range.....though I wasn't apart of it :( . I'm interested to see how it ended up for all those folks.

I really enjoyed the course though.

I did the same thing for my first 5 runs, but on the sixth run late apexed and overshot the stop I was going so much faster. I don't think you were alone, John.

I'm sorta glad we didn't do the mix-master of death figure eight around the middle poles. It would have been a much longer course and we would have spent countless hours cleaning up dead corner workers. Thanks Mike and Larry for improvising and setting up the course.

How bad was the car that broke? Hopefully it was just a bolt that backed out and nothing catastrophic. It figures that would happen just as the baseball game was letting out.

^The bolt was found on course. The nut just worked loose and separated at some point on course....eventually the bolt came out and the control arm collapsed. I don't think anyone found the nut, but a quick trip to a hardware store should have been enough to get him home I would think.

I actually liked the course a lot. a lot of turns were more than the first apeared to be and took a while to figure out. The first turn around I though was pretty odd and hard to get a decent like through. (good thing)

I had a fun day.

I am sad that Jacob didn't come out and drive my Corolla though, I would be interested to see how he handled the beast

and yes, the WRX was fixed, I gave him his bolt back and I guess he found a nut for it. apparently his other side was loose too

The wonderful thing about google docs: you can see the results while I am still working on them. Don't be surprised if some things change when you reload it later.

As always, post in this thread or send me a PM if you see an error.
